It looks like they dropped the boost clock as well from 1725 [on 3955] to 1665 [on 3953] while keeping the MSRP the same price.
 
Does boost clock matter if you manually overclock?    Should we assume these are inferior cards that won't overclock well?
 
I have a great Queue time for once (+ 8 min), but I'm wondering if I should just wait it out for the 3967 (+46 min) to get 1800 Boost Clock.
 
Any advice?  I'm sure 1-2 fps wont matter if that is the only difference, I'm a causal gamer at best, but I do a lot of video processing and offload transcoding the the GPU whenever I can.

I honestly don't know how people got in earlier! I must have a slow internet connection.

Anyone else notice the sneaky product change this morning right before the notify time. 3955 3080 Ti XC3 Ultra that we thought would be the card priced at $1,200 disappeared and this base model 3953 3080 Ti XC3 Gaming shows up and is the card the is up for notify and priced the exact same as the ULTRA. Meh yea they can keep it with that shady crap. Starting to be like ASUS, MSI, and Gigash$t with that slide of hand nonsense!
Nothing but a hassle today with tabs upon tabs of access denied. These notify's keep getting worse. Dunno what attempt to make the site better IT is doing but I think they are going in the wrong direction.

Reading through the announcement by Team EVGA again this morning, no card numbers were listed, rather just the model name. @Jacob_F may have known. Just very un-EVGA-like to not be straightforward and honest with their customers…especially the Elite members.

Normally, I’m praising EVGA for how they handle business. But this…this is a black-eye on the company and puts a bad taste in my mouth. It’s sad to see EVGA conduct business this way. I’m still hoping, deep-down, that it was a mistake. But with no announcement and no correction by the team, it looks like EVGA has stooped to lowering performance and value for the same price.

Sad day for EVGA.

I agree it was a sneaky/sudden change and they should have communicated that better.  THAT SAID, look at it from their point of view - the chips are still in very short supply and the XC3 card CANNOT be converted to hybrid cooling via their kit, unlike the FTW Ultra which _can_.  Therefore, IMO EVGA is basically taking _all_ chips that can possibly operate at the FTW Ultra minimum advertised clock speeds and putting only the ones that just can't cut it in the new (slightly lower tier) XC3 cards in order to maximize production for the cards (I presume, and I could be wrong here) more people are interested in.
 
Anyway, just my take on their reasoning for this, and not trying to make any excuses - just another perspective for consideration.

Yea as mentioned it's available but I'd be tossing on the EKWB I've had sitting on my desk for a few months now. Just can't justify paying $1,200 for a base model card. The user that mentioned the XC3 Ultra performs better then the FE um your incorrect unless the XC3 is overclocked. Otherwise the floor is mopped with the XC3 Ultra by the FE on just about all tests ran in this review. https://hothardware.com/r...rce-rtx-3080-ti-review

Unfortunately $1200 is the base price for a 3080ti regardless, but it's definitely disappointing to see the "ultra" losing out to the FE at stock.

Well this morning was another F5 battle made all the more difficult because of a last (15) minute surprise by EVGA of a new card (the 3953). My apologies for not anticipating that. I hope folks were able to manage and picked up decent registration times. I expect both the 3953 and the 3783 to receive drops today, even if it is just a few to the very beginning of each queue.
