Ooo, jumped all the way to 2:38AM! That puts it just about 12 hrs away from mine. My hope is that not a lot of people signed up at night, so that actually makes the time shorter than it would be otherwise.
 
Curious, why not purchasing? It's been a really long wait, surprised you'd be passing it up.

Ship sailed long ago. Already have another card. Just kept the notifications in case I needed a replacement for whatever reason. Figure it'll just roll to the next person.

 
I have given up on 3080. Will probably settle for 3070ti as I cant run my 980 anymore lol.

So I've had my new 3080ti for a few days now.  HOLY CRAP!  Yes, the 3080ti and that DDR6X memory is freaking *HOT*!  My machine has never spewed so much heat before, this is crazy.  My old GTX 980 was TDP of 165W, now I'm at 350W (no overclock) and I have to wonder if all the "performance improvements" are really just due to pumping more juice through these cards.
 
I am *ABSOLUTELY* getting that Hybrid conversion kit as soon as it comes back in stock - this was really eye-opening!  Hopefully the 40 series starts addressing the heat issue.  Might be fine if you're in Iceland, but in South Florida we really don't need that extra heat.

I wanted 80 or 80ti but gave up on it as wait was too long for me. Hearing you say this makes me even more happy that I am going to 3070ti (hopefully quicker too). I wont be doing anything crazy so hopefully 70ti will be plenty with good temps.

According to leaks, which are super trustworthy (/sarcasm), the 40 series and AMD's next GPUs are going to draw more power than the current gen. I have concerns. I have the 3080ti, and a hybrid kit and I'm now planning further modifications to my setup to deal with this heat. 420-430W during gaming loads is just...a lot.

Well thats really relative to the TDP.  Power draw and TDP are two different things.  More efficient the chips, the less TDP/Watt.  Smaller nm helps with that. Not that the 40 series is that, just saying for reference. What the 3080ti does and its TDP is, in the end, relatively low heat generation.

There will be some 3797 this week but will it be a big drop

I wish we would get weekly or even monthly notification on que positions.  That way we don't do something dumb like buy from scalper trash because our video card went out.  At least give some hope

I read on one of the youtube chat that there are chances of a big drop of some GPUs. Is this true, also is this true for 3080?

but my cart will not load in..for over an hour now. I can't even purchase lol

From what I've heard the GDDR6X (vs GDDR6) is a big culprit.  I'd heard these cards were hot, but holy moly I was not prepared.  So yeah, the 3070ti (and even standard 3080) are likely gonna be much cooler than the 3080ti.
 
I'm driving a Samsung Odyssey G9 (UWQHD 5120x1440) at 240Hz, so I need as much grunt as I can from my GPU.  But if you don't REALLY need it, definitely take the heat into consideration.  Even while idling these cards are quite warm.
