Hi!

I started having an issue 2 days ago where while playing a game my monitors would suddenly flash and then turn off (standby).  I could not wake them back up.  My PC was running fine in the background and I could still talk to my friends on discord, etc...  but the only way to get it to come back was to manually shut it off and wait a few minutes.

I did some research and people suggested cleaning and reapplying the paste.  I carefully took apart the card (watched a few videos) and cleaned and then re applied the paste.  I put everything back together nicely.  It is in my PC right now, it is not hot at all and all the fans are working fine.  However, in XOC, I am now showing great temps for GPU and Power, around 30 C, but the Memory temp is showing 120 C in red.

While the other 2 temps are fluctuating, the mem temp is just stuck in 120, not going up or down, even though the card is cool.  I do not recall a sensor or anything being disconnected on the GPU when I took it apart, but does anyone have any idea:

1) What my original problem was being caused by?

2) Why XOC is reading a bogus temp for Memory now?

Thanks!

There's very small thermisters that measure the temp. They are small SMDs mounted on the board. You may have gotten some paste or other contaminant, that's changed it's resistance value or possibly damaged it.
I'd have to look up the PCB to see where than particular one is located. It will be close to one of the memory modules.

Hemi would you be able to help me find where that is located?  I will open the card back up and clean it.

If you click on the Sensor tab of XOC you get a popup windows showing all the temp readings from the sensors.
Might help find which Mem sensor is giving the 120C.
