What am I supposed to do now? I started with an unused still in box Evga 780i sli and a corsair 1000w power supply I used on my now dead 790i ultra. Started getting reboots and went through ALL the checks and cable plug and unplugging. Swapped out reseat graphics cards. Tried just one stick of ram. Tested the ram one stick at a time blah blah blah. I ve tried everything. It did pass IBT on high setting 10 passes and prime95 for 24 hours before this happened. It would only reset during graphics intensive situations, games/ benchmarks.
So in my infinite wisdom, all I have left to try is replacing the power supply. I acquired the 1000 watt supernova. As soon as i got the new supplied power cables installed and push the power button the fans spin just for a split second and I've got a dead computer. Then I go through the checklist and plug and unplug power cables. The only way my computer will even go to the BIOS screen is with my hard drive power cables left unplugged. They worked just fine with my last power supply. I've got the p10 BIOS set to default with all the spread spectrum turned off Yada Yada Yada. I've had nothing but problems with your products with the exception of graphics cards. The only reason I even bothered to try this 780i motherboard is because my POS 790i ultra finally gave up the ghost. My girlfriend just spent over 200 bucks buying me ram and this 1000 watt EVGA power supply. I'm screwed. I have no money. Don't tell me to post my configuration because that isn't the problem. My computer worked excellent except for the once or twice a day reboot before I tried this power supply. I tried putting my old power supply back in and now I am getting the exact same results with it too. I'm afraid to try this NEW PSU on something new because I have to ask for the money to buy all new components. I'm already in trouble for wasting the money on this ancient motherboard. So I'm not going to let it touch any motherboard I manage to come across in the future. I would like to get this situation resolved and I have the suspect PSU registered already. I've been patient with this company before because you have had the best customer service I have ever known. If I RMA this power supply will you change everything out including cables? I'm not intentionally trying to be rude or ungrateful but I need to know what to do. If my computer is fried then I guess I'll wait until I eventually round up the parts and try again. Please let me exchange this PSU.
