I'm lucky to be able to buy one high-end video board per year. By the time I assembled a collection of eight identical boards they would be ready for the Smithsonian!

Me on GPU on two years and motherboards on 3 years.
Except if I have chance to sell and lose little money during upgrade than it's better
every generation and less investment than after 3-4 years whole price investment.

My MSI GTX-980 Gaming 4G boards work so well with ASIC scores of 79.0 and 79.3 I finally invested in EK full cover waterblocks. These video boards will be with me for a long time to come.

That's same, 980 and 780Ti, one have faster Bus for 128MB, other 1024MB more Video Memory.
Even his KP is faster chip probably out of box.
Now only worth investing waterblock for GM200 or investing in watercooling parts and wait Pascal for GPU block.
When Pascal show up easy 6GB on GTX980Ti start to become limit.
I really worry if I invest in Fury X because 4GB, but Fury X is difference Bandwith is 512 and somehow with that HBM probably faster work with textures and than that look like 5-6GB example... From other side R9-390X is something like 780Ti only little faster GPU and 8GB memory.
Somehow I can't believe that Fury X with 4GB work just like that as card with 6GB and no problem on 4K etc...They say but much calmer are people with R9-380X with video memory.
Now situation is really stupid, before few years was much better. You buy one card and than even if she become weaker after 1 year you install one more for SLI. Now you plan to do that and after 1 year you figure out that your card is limited with video memory and you need new.
Now NVIDIA have plan after Pascal show up to leave people with GTX980Ti in position to invest in new card... Only TITAN X is safe.
Don't even to talk about 980 with 4GB and something lower. They have no chance to resist when new cards with 8-16GB show up.
NVIDIA say something 24 or 32GB, but I don't believe in that, 8 and 16 probably. 8 for lower resolution and 16 for long term.
And again AMD Radeon owners are safe with 290X 8GB 3 years old and R9-390X 8GB. Only install one more card for 300-350e.

With nVidia talking about forcing GeForce owners to use GFE for the latest driver updates that R9-390X 8GB video board is looking mighty handsome with a price that is barely over 400 USD. Maybe jumping ship and going to Team Red isn't such a bad idea after all. Thanks for the heads up, Vlada011. I wasn't aware that the R9-390X 8GB board had such impressive specifications.

R9-390X is not bad card at all.
I don't like because AMD didn't lunch nice reference models from pictures on beginning.
But with them you need watercooling as well.
ASUS made mistake because didn't launch R9-390X Poseidon.
XFX launch exactly 5 model with same name R9-390X DD Core Edition.
I would like to know why they done that and where is difference except serial number.
All of them are with same clock... So stupid thing only confuse buyers and no way to find information about that on net.

Watercooling is almost a necessity with an AMD video board but now that I've taken the plunge it doesn't worry me so much. I always had good performance from my AMD boards and my Sapphire HD5770 is still going strong in a PC that I built for my nephew several years ago. I never had any driver problems like the ones that everyone always complains about so my experience with AMD was a happy one for me. What initially put me off was when they did away with the Crossfire bridge. I was worried that using PCI-E lanes instead of a ribbon cable would cause problems but they're the experts and have been very successful with it. Maybe it's time to give AMD a second look.

Doh! What an idiot. [face palm]  I've been sitting here with a digital thermometer right next to my keyboard to check my ambient temps and all this time all I had to do was push a button to switch it from Fahrenheit to Celsius. OMG!

HAH, yeah, that would work too.

It's this one: http://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Technology-302-604S-Thermometer-Hygrometer/dp/B004QM97CU/ref=sr_1_55?srs=2595115011&ie=UTF8&qid=1445292168&sr=8-55
It's been staring me in the face since March of 2014 and I still don't know how to use it. Pitiful, isn't it?

Thanks, I'm Still hanging in there.

BTW, If you need more Cooling you can always use Outside the case Radiators.

Finally went that route with outstanding results.

+1 for the Trooper/Stryker case (I love mine), +2 for the trusty Logitech 3D flight-stick.

If you live somewhere cold enough, you can put the rads outside the window, and go for the "Overclocking at the South Pole" PrecisionX achievement. Was chatting with some guy on Reddit, he got his 980ti Hydrocopper down to 9°C this way.

Notice that the 'Breakfast Bar' my PC sits on is basically half in my kitchen and half in my living room as a divider. My water is included in my rental agreement. If I could have found a 1/2" nipple for my kitchen faucet I would have run hoses straight from the faucet and back to the sink eliminating the need for a reservoir or pump altogether. LOL
Things are cool enough now. I don't want to risk any condensation from freezing water in my loop forming on my video board's waterblocks as seen in another post here earlier this week. I love my Stryker case too.
