I'm upgrading to an I7 this month and the board i'm looking at is the EVGA Intel x58 SLI LE ( http://www.newegg.com/Pro...x?Item=N82E16813188049 ).

Since I'll be needing a docking station does this board support Hot-Swappable on the Esata and does it have Port Multiplier enabled eSATA controller (thats so I can use more than 1 HD off the docking station)?

Those features are very important to me. So if it is not compatible with those features can anyone steer me in the right direction. I only will by EVGA boards since the last 780i was just amazing.

Thanks for the input!

Yes for Hot Swap and no on Pot Multiplier.

Sorry to say no there aren't any. The ESATA Ports are handled by JMicron controller and they don't support multi porting.

I bought a Thermaltake BlacX HDD dock. 2 ports.
The FAQ's on EVGA's website says my X58 SLI board supports it.
But i can't seem to get it to work.
it only sees one HDD at a time.
When booting, i notice the JMicron controller only sees 1 HDD.
so i don't think Win7 will ever see it either if the BIOS doesn't
I just flashed my BIOS to the newest revison on EVGA's site today. still no go.
     Any ideas ?

    FAQ ID # 58834
Question / Issue Do the e-SATA ports on the X58 series boards support Port Multiplier?
    Answer / Solution Yes.
If your X58 board features an e-SATA port, then it supports the Port Multiplier feature.
This feature allows more than one SATA device to be accessed at a time on a single e-SATA port

If that faq is true than you might need to update the Drivers to get it to work in the OS. the Jmicron controllers are iffy a lot of the time and need the drivers in the OS to do a lot of things. including raid.
