The last person who wrote about this was unable to get the two to work together. No matter which Bios was used. I would stick with Win 7 or upgrade Mobo, etc.

i think the issues were with the driver (chipset)
you can find here if you want to try it (below)
also this thread may help, we are running on a 980sli with no problems but have not tried a 680 yet
let me know if it works

Microsoft site says the 680i and 780i are supported . But I can't get my 780i board to work with 10 . I can install it just fine , but as soon as the nvidia video drivers are loaded all hell breaks loose ! The video driver will constantly reset itself until it freezes up the PC (30 times under a minute) . Remove the driver and it stops . I installed another hdd , put 8.1 Pro on it and have smooth sailing .

    Hi
i would like to know if motherboard 680 SLI supports windows 10 and what the latest version of its bios?

I was hoping to test but my 680i is DEAD was new in box all these years dropped E8400 in it bareboned booted it posted dropped my Q9550 in it turned it on to CODE - -

Just put new bios chip in it yesterday and same crap no post just code - -
everything running on it but thats all it got was bout 3seconds of life with e8400 lol

My 780i FTW which is half burnt up from fried GTX460 years ago did work fine on Win10

If this isnt your main system and you can backup anything important off the 680i main OS drive I would give it a shot if I were you. Any other drives in that system just unplug them while you test it out. If the OS on main drive you have setup to want to keep just clone it then wipe it and experiment you may get it to work regardless of others experiences.

I just resurrected my 680i with an nVidia GTX400 video card. Running Gandalf's WinPE Redstone 2 build I thought I was going to tear out what little remains of my body hair. I had 4Gb of patriot DDR2 1066 which runs at 5-5-5-15. It was sooooooooo sssllloooooooooooowwwwwwwww Nothing made a difference.  Just shy of scrapping my plans and loading Linux on to it I paid a visit to eBay. I found another 4Gb (2x2Gb) of Mushkin gaming memory with matching specs. It was only $30 so I thought and bought it.
Night and Day difference!!! No special drivers installed and my Q6600 quad core has me smiling again. Windows is a bloodthirsty pig for memory. Fill 'er up with high test and take it for a spin. Mine's been up for a week now no problems.
    just my .02
