so i had evga gtx 560 ti fpb for about 5 months now and i just recieved a second one today after alot of debating between buying another one or buying an amd gpu 7000 series. anyways, i put the ther card today and was extremly excited about it because i was thinking i will get a huge fps gain, now the problem is that i tried bf3 and it runs perfectly on ultra @ 80fps all the times but there are huge lags if i turn MSAA ON. so i was like okay my gpu have only 1 gb so its fine. i tried rage and only 1 gpu deticted ! i tried gta and the fps is the same with a single card ! i tried bulletstorm and the fps is even worse than a single gpu ! HELP ?! please why i am having this low fps ? are these games supposed to run like that ? how can i fix it ? MY SPEC: Core I5 2500k OCed 4.8Ghz @1.44v 12gb dd3 1333mhz kingston ram corsair gs800w power supply win 7 64-bit pro 2x gtx 560 ti fpb gigabyte z68a-d3h-b3 motherboard ALL THE LATEST DRIVERS INSTALLED INCLUDING EVGA SLI ENHANCMENT. I ALSO ENABLED SLI IN NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL.

Can you disable SLI, run 3DMark 11 or Heaven. What is your score? Then enable SLI and run again. This will help us determine if there is an issue.

well my internet is kind of slow now but is it really necessary to download 3d mark ? i mean bf 3 runs on 80fps average with sli and unigen heaven runs 2x the performance of a single gpu so .... the only problem i am having is with these 3 games )rage + gta iv + bulletstorm).... infact if it is the game problem then it is okay as i uninstalled them anyways but if i had something wrong then what is it ? i mean i am the only one having problems with these games ?

Yeah, most likely a driver issue with the other games is what i'd assume. Try some older drivers if you have the one that just came out on the 21st of this month.

It looks like drivers issue also to me... i would try oldest WHQL like the 285 or the beta 290... Other games i don't know, but Rage for example got the engine that keep your framerate@60 and it's not reccomended to turn off v-sync! i would suggest also to have a look to your virtu's drivers and settings, if you got the on board video enabled... no other suggestion ATM... edit: PS put also on performance settings on the nvidia panel and virtu (if you got it)

Try driver 285.62 specifically. Also, BF3 with 1GB cards you can't run with MSAA on, SLI or not. Your fps is on par with what I get with similar rig.

hmm. i have a z68 motherboard that have virtu but i never installed the driver for that as i only want to use my external gpus so i skiped the headache and didnt install it. also in bios i set built-in gpu to disable unless no external gpu.... so basicly i wasted $550 with tax for buying another gtx 560 ti.. now all the games coming in 2012 will support 1.5gb of spu memory which i dont have which means i cannot max out anygame even tho i have gtx 560 ti in sli..... i just had a gtx 560 ti already so i thought it will be better to add another one instead of selling and buying another gpu which is a huge loose and headache. i was happy when i bought the second one but not anymore. thanks you guys anyways for your help ! i really appreciate it !

If you get things setup correctly, you will have better performance running in sli than in single card setup. *however* games such as BF3 - which is one of the very few games coded to fully take advantage of a GPUs power, do require more VRAM than 1Gb and a card more powerful than a 560ti to max out the graphics settings.

If he was running 1080p, but he's running 1600X900. 1GB is more than enough VRAM at that resolution. I don't think he's having a VRAM bottleneck at all.

you are correct, misread what he wrote. I'd follow Rainstrykes suggestion with the 285.62 drivers. Do make sure you delete the other drivers and install the new ones as per this post.

hmm just a question, i should not be having a 1gb of used vram on 1600x900 and no MSAA right ? so why i do have that ? i mean is it normal or only me ? also i have max pre rendered frams set to 0 in nvidia control panel is that okay ? it really reduces input lagg for me especially when i play modern warfare 3. i dont think it cause lagg right ?

RainStryke Those screen shots prove me wrong. Your VRAM is maxed out with no AA. You should really check this out, this guy spent a long time on this, a very useful guide on tweaking your settings for BF3. http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?high=&m=1323124&mpage=1#1323124 Who would have thunk it!! :) Boy is that game a VRAM hog, even at that res, gosh almighty! Well, he is running HBAO on, with ultra settings on some items. I mean turning down those might help also.

Rage has no sli support, gta iv runs horrible on all computers due to it being a console port, and I don't know about bulletstorm. It's not you, it's the games.

Did you try.. Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Performance -> Settings -> Adjust for Best Performance ? It's not ideal, but it will free up abit of vram, maybe enough for you to enjoy that particular game. As previously mentioned, different games have different ranges (or lack thereof) for support for SLI/Crossfire. Good Luck, Pete

Lol I wish I found this thread earlier. I could of told you it was your Vram. I have a GTX 460 that is heavily OC'd and BF3 on all high with HBAO and AA turned off uses up 990 of my 1 GB Vram. I don't even dare to run it on Ultra since DICE themselves said don't run Ultra unless you have 1.5 GB of Vram or more. I fully believe them, BF3 makes my gaming rig cry every time I play it.

Thing about BF3 is that the larger multiplayer maps use more VRAM then the smaller rush type maps. Try hopping in a small map and run on ultra settings but keep MSAA at 0x. I tested mine and at 1080P with ultra and MSAA at 0, The game only used an average of 1100mb on my cards in tri sli so i have a ton of room. And that was on a smaller rush mode game. Although, if your ram maxxes out bad things like fps lag spikes will defintely occur. Too bad they werent the 2GB versions. I dont even know why they let you enable SLI with less than 1.5GB Vram anyway.
