I installed my 2 new Classifieds yesterday, didn't do much testing as of yet.
But these cards are really big! Especially compared to the normal EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX cards.

Anyways, the only "annoyance" for me are those white leds on the Classified. Is it possible to disable them?
Because in their current state they disrupt my yellow themed leds in my waterloop (cpu block and reservoir).

Probably I missed it somewhere.

I will have a busy weekend, but after that I will do some (temperature) testing and stuff and gonna replace the stock TIM / Paste with the one from Phobya (16 W/mk or whatever it was).

I apologize for the mis-read.  For these lights they cannot be adjusted and it the program is only for the reference 780 and Titan cards.

I have tried this with my 780 Classy with no success at all. THought I would try it even though it said it was for the reference GPU... Just an FYI...

MVd take off your ACX cooler its 5 screws and see if you can also unplug the LED lights. Since you mentioned you were going to replace the TIM anyways you might as well do that while you are there.

Save yourself the time and don't do that. They are lights on the PCB, not the cooler. I believe they are indicators  for normal operation (one being red would be bad). There was the same complaint on the 680 Classified, and really the only thing people were able to do is put something over them (i.e. electrical tape). Really not sure why they did the same thing again.

I knew they were on the board didnt know if they had plugs going to them or no that could be unplugged. If they are soldered like you say then yeah wont work.

That's kinda disappointing. Especially considering what the card costs. And using electrical tape on it is not an option, because not only will it come loose in due time, but it will look also poor / cheap.

In this price range your should be able to disable all the leds. I can do the same on my motherboard (MSI Big Bang xPower II x79).

Oh well, I will wait a while. If it stays annoying, than I can always look into the Lightning (whenever it's being released).

Thank you for your input anyways.

Always when I look card from top my heart stop for sec because you see shine only from 2 LEDs.
Because red plate inside. Few times I thought only 2 works... Than when you look better directly on card you see normal. Xexexe...
I'm so proud on my card, this my favorite card in life before this model I love EVGA GTX580 reference most.

You will be able to control the lights on your EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX cards with a software program you can download in the thread link I have provided below.

I mean these leds as pictured on this picture below:

PS: I said Classifieds not the vanilla cards! Apparently posts are still not read correctly. :(

Will the software work on the classified(in your picture)?
EDIT: will try covering it up with a black tape, too.

Desolder them or snip them off.

Yes I'm serious, I've done this with everything from Xbox controllers to sound cards to SATA enclosures to rc helicopters (I hate annoying LED's).

If you go the electric tape route, 3M makes some nice vinyl electric tape rated up to 105°C (Scotch Super 33+).

(If your card breaks from removing the LED's I claim no responsibility, also 99.99% chance your warranty will be void)

Few people are willing to void their warranty due to cutting off LEDs.

Another option is to lay down a little strip of liquid tape. Liquid tape molds to the shape of its surface, won't dry out like regular tape and fall off, and can be peeled off to retain the warranty later.

Agreed...........it is really easy to color the LED's though to match. ANd its easy to use a bit of rubbing alcohol after to removing the coloring if need be.

Just cover them up , do not discolor them or snip off the leads.  You will void your warranty 100%.  Unless you don't care ... then you are on your own
    .
    VOID Warranty Policy
Your EVGA product must be free of physical damage or modification. Products received with physical damage (bent CPU socket pins, any damage to the PCB, water damage, etc), missing the original video card or chipset heat sink, or missing the serial number sticker will be returned to the customer or may incur a service charge upon receiving the item. If your product is received damaged, EVGA will contact you with information and options to assist with filing a claim or offering a repair fee to avoid the product losing it's warranty.  http://www.evga.com/howtorma/

You can color them without voiding your warranty.

Link is not needed. Common sense. How is coloring(which is reversible)the tips of a few tiny led bulbs going to 'void" your warranty. If your GPU up and fries EVGA cannot just void the warranty from coloring the bulbs of some superficial accessory led lights that is separate from the functionality of the card. Your not damaging or physically altering the card in any way.

If there is an issue with that then an EVGA mod should chime in here disputing that. But Im doubting the answer would be different.

Unless you have written proof or a link to a post made by someone actually from Evga then you are making assumptions based on your opinion which will not help anyone if they have an rma issue from discolored lights.  The fact you say it's reversible is based on your abilities to clean. I'm just saying what "If" someone in the rma dept sees traces of the yellow or red or whatever color is used ?? How do you prove it's not a drop of spilled water from a poorly installed water block ?  I know it sounds picky ( and this is Evga where rma's and customer service are beyond reproach ) I'm not saying you are wrong or that they can't be cleaned but that's an expensive card and I would do nothing without "Official" notice.  Just my

Maybe the best course of action might be to start a thread for owners and see if Evga might make a small lexan cover or something for it ...  who knows they just might make one
