can anyone tell me what the difference is between these 2 cards? they have the same dimensions and clock speeds etc.

    Hello and welcome to the forums! Both graphics card have the same base specifications. The major and only difference between the two is that the EVGA RTX 2070 SUPER XC Gaming is a dual slot graphics card. While the EVGA RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra Gaming is 2.75 slot, so it will essentially take up three PCIE expansion slots on your case. The thicker card will give you better thermal performance and the fans will not ramp up as much as the slimmer dual slot card.

    The 2070 XC Ultra is three slots while the 2070 Super XC looks to be a two slot cooler. I haven’t really compared all the specs but that stood out as obvious.

    thanx man, do the fans on both cards fully stop when not in use or low load

    XC Ultra fans stop completely for most desktop and even some less-advanced games (like 2d stuff, perhaps).  That said, they spin up based on temps, so as long as you have good airflow, the fans are not going to turn on until you enter a game that really works the card - IME so far.
