Macros So awesome! I love the X79 FTW board Awwww thank you's xDDDD Yaps it's my first FTW product btw Since my theme for this build is EVGA FTW I also changed the choice of my VGA cards from EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC Signature 2GB to EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW 2GB 2GB is plenty for my needs and this change also makes the EVGA FTW theme more complete

killerjas Nice. I wish i could still do it. Even with free stuff. :( I wanna make a dedicated folding rig but no money to do that Well nothing came for free here sadly heh but I have learn in the distant past is that if you really want something that badly you will find a way and achieve Just give yourself the time to achieve your goals, plenty of new stuff coming this year, that will make the items as the ones I purchased even more attractive and affordable, it's only been 3 years for me since my last new buildm so for me it was the right timing, also right after this VGA card sale: http://www.voodooalert.de...stID=326647#post326647 Maybe you should try and sell what you don't need and that way you can also make the money you just might need for the upgrade or new parts. You could sell what you have now and add some saved up money to make the build complete or you have patience and lay money aside and hope within a moth or two to accomplish your goals

Well I looked at your systems specs they seem very nice even for today's games, as for Folding @ Home and other crunching based programs I never got in to those they would eat away my power bills and that would make things over priced, anyhow I never got interested in such project, main importance is to have support for the latest upcoming games. Your system would still do very very well, i'd not be ashamed yet there are many more people that have much lesser specs than you and even they are satisfied on what they have achieved! I'd not worry too much mate

Thanks Chrome M Dragon :) Yet I think that BluRay isn't like it's gonna be a success standard like the Cassette and DVD have become, it reminds me of the Sony Minidisc, you had better quality sound and it was small and compact thus a better design but it wasn't successful same for the Beta tapes we had in the 80's they were double sided but VHS kinda took the upper hand. Even how good or better BluRay is over DVD, it's just not wide spread yet and how old is BluRay already 5 to 6 years at the least. The reason I bought one is because my parents have BR drive for their TV and now I can also record Videos for them on BR format also to make some backups for the rest it's pretty much useless. Not to mention that it's useful for everything, but yer just that purpose, for the rest you'd see me use more DVD's than BR's.

Macros +1 for another NH-D14 user! Hay thanks Macros Well I had little choice, since my case the Lian Li Tyr PC-X2000B has 140mm fans, so going for the Corsair H80 & H100 didn't seem useful, because their rads & fans are smaller, they are 120mm instead of 140mm! And an EK or Danger Den Water kit may have been an option, but for me that would not be so handy, since I don't like messing with water and PC's, it never has been my nature and it never will The chance of seeing a big explosion is very to most likely Noctua has another cooler for Land Grid Array 2011, but it brings even more limitations as size and cooling area goes, it's width was also a pain to deal with, so that wasn't the solution either. Then I took a quick look at the Zalman air cooler, I was like ah this isn't it either, it seemed too small for what I was seeking, so yeah the Noctua NH-D14 SE 2011 was my only and best way out It's kind of disappointing that there is not much to choose from for LGA 2011 as air coolers go But hey this cooler oughta handy even the toughest CPU's, just gotta find out how to mount the thing, I had in mind to remove the middle fan to reach for the mounting screws, ah well I'll see I guess, it should not be that complicated I assume

esCob4r Looking good man. Can't wait to see it all hooked up! =D Thanks man And yes I will do my best with this build as I have done with my Dual Opterons, it is getting used to building a 1CPU setup again xDD It's just the advantage of going both ways when it comes to CFX & SLI< you have both choices with such a setup and the X79 is afaik the most powerful chipset for any 1 CPU platfrom, as it's the successor of the Intel X58 platform :) So yeah I'll keep this thread up to date, tomorrow I will be expecting some packages again so do expect MOAR pics incoming xDDDD Update :) The ram arrived today too :) Just waiting on the Noctua NH-D14 SE 2011 & HP ZR24w now, as hardware goes

Macros I just hope you checked that the heatsink has enough clearance for the RAM you purchased. Can't wait to see this being put together. Gonna look sexy! I did, my ram is 30mm high max height usable is 48mm to my knowledge :) It's why I RMA's the Corsair Vengeance ram sticks since they had heat spreaders on them that made then 50mm high, the ram kit I have now is just normal ram height which is 30mm :) Also is seemed my Mobo was resealed, this might indicate that EVGA Europe gave it the new bios chips to fix the Bios Bug :), my mobo box had double placed rounded EVGA seals on both ends. Anyways I just hope the i7 3820 will function without any hesitations. Due to the many hospital appointments I have and the 4 week vacation I will build this system once I have obtained the first EVGA GTX 680 FTW 4GB Edition and the Win 7 Pro x64 UK + SP1 OS, I want to show a complete system and not a half one, just to keep you guys updated and I will complete this one please don't worry about that, alright! All will come in to place and as you know it will be a lot like all the builds I have done, a very neat clean result is the idea So it's better to keep it all packed in away from dust fall and such, now the parts are better protected

Ahhh I see sorry bro. Guess I kinda skeemed through the thread checking out the pics mainly. I hope and pray you get your hospital bills straightened out. I know how much of a damper they can bring. But on the bright side I hope you have an EXCELLENT vacation! =P But seriously? How big is that friggin heat sink? Box looks like it could be holding a small 13inch monitor in there.

Yeah thanks man, will do, the campsite has WiFi so I'll pop up here @ EVGA and post a greet too As for the size of the D14 haha I truly have no idea what to expect but since Macros has one xDDD He's the expert me thinks hahah I think it's humungous really, just an insane idea that became a reality me thinks, funny bit it seems to cool pretty darn good too rofl! Them Austrians @ Noctua sure knew what they were doing after reading this review of this odd cooling apparatus: http://www.hitechlegion.c...2011-cpu-cooler-review For Specs and Features go here: http://www.hitechlegion.c...-cooler-review?start=3 It shows all the needed to know sizes and all

Christus Hi Gold Leader! Very nice build! Can't wait to see it finished! I especially like that LianLi case! Good mornings xDDD Thanks Christus xDDDD Yer that was actually part of Project G34 but since the 6276's I wanted for it are still like beyond the 1200 euro mark I kinda pulled off from the idea but I knew that this case would be handy for something else and these days they are close to unavailable also It has three heatzones, top for your IO drives & PSU, center for the Mobo VGA cards sound cards raid cards and bottom for the HDD's each does does not interfere with the other this creating the ideal cooling situation

Hey! I liked your Project G34 too. Always had an eye on that. 1200 Euros per CPU is really quite expensive. I wanted to have that case too because of heatzones. But on the other hand always I felt quite comfortabel with my PC-A7010. And the Tyr Cases aren't that cheap I think I saw a case similar to the LianLi PC-A7010 on some of your pictures too?
