Warning: This can increase the workload of your cpu to 100% which could be dangerous if you are not aware of your cpu temps (but who here isn't?) I'm just sharing some info I found on the web. I recommend using monitoring software like Real Temp to record your max cpu temps while using Hyper Matrix.

http://120hz.net/hypermatrix/HyperMatrix.zip
Download Hypermatrix from the link above. Password is 120hz.net

Launch Crysis 3 and play it, note your frame rate.

Alt tab to your desktop and launch Hyper Matrix and click the MAXIMUM button on the bottom left of the window.

Go back into the game and enjoy more fps!

Here is a video explaining it in more detail.

Here is the original thread at 120hz.net
http://120hz.net/showthre...cam-video)&p=21396

Click here to download the Crysis 3 Cvar Configurator. Also a great tool for tweaking out more performance.

I really liked what he said about a RAM drive.

Makes me wonder though; Does that mean he is limiting the RAM he has? Like, if on a RAM drive of 16GB, and he only has 18gb. Would it be like playing the game with 2GB RAM?

Yep. If you looked in windows task manager you would see 16GB used up just for the RAM drive. I doubt he has only 18GB. He's probably running 24GB.

WOW  3 680s and he still can play Crysis 3 maxed out?

Without his mod I am around 100fps on the high side and 50fps on the low side with 2 670s, all settings maxed.  I understand his resolution is higher then my 1080, but he has a lot turned down.

I tried this with mixed luck, first time I hit max my game exploded in fireworks and driver crashed, second time it worked and gameplay was much smoother ( not just fps but I was not getting the choppyness I was getting before.)  Then I closed the program went back to the game and it exploded again.  Possibly you might want to enable and disable the program why a game is not running.  2560x1440 everything maxed out 2gpu smaa and motion blur high.  I am forced to play with vsync since i get screen tear with it off fps didnt go under 62.  With vsync on I get 60 fps almost all the time, sometimes goes to 55 but I cant notice a slowdown.  Cutscenes still run like A** with 20% gpu usage and low fps, obviously a driver issue.  This will make you CPU work for the extra performace my 3930k was seeing upwards of 70% use @ 4.6ghz and the cores were hanging 75C-80C on my H100.  I think ill stay away from this and hope for a driver patch from nvidia I dont know what those temps or this program will do to my chip long term.

Exactly, hopefully we will see a driver update soon that will take care of some of these performance issues. It is a great looking game and all, but it should not be this hard to run considering the equipment most of us are running it on. Definitely some drivers need to be adjusted.

I would advise users to AVOID making such changes.
Wait for a Patch (likely this week) and/or a better driver...

Messing around with clock internals should not be done, the timers are there for a reason.

Casual users, users with older systems and users of closed loop CPU water cooling who do NOT run monitoring software and are unaware of their CPU temps, should avoid using this software as doing so could push CPU into the danger zone and or cause hardware failure.

    MANIAC's advise= just say no

    Re:Crysis 3 - 30% Framerate Boost 2013/02/26 02:13:16 (permalink)
The program itself isn't dangerous.  I've since linked back to Lucas Hales website for the download (author of the app).  The reason I added a warning to the video description isn't because the app is doing anything odd.  It's no more stress than if you were encoding a video.  But most people don't get their CPU's to 100% load for extended periods.  Even if you run your CPU hotter, technically it should throttle down to prevent damage.  And if you overclock, you should really have some kind of monitoring/warning system.  But it's just safer to put the owness on the individual, rather than people coming back and telling me something happened to their hardware because it actually ran at 100% for the first time.  :P

This also seems to be a hit/miss situation for many.  For myself on subsequent levels I've had it increase my FPS from 98 (app off) to 142 (app on).  That's a 45% increase.  I know it's working for many.  But it's also not working for many others.

As for the settings used in the video, the settings were adjusted for 2 reasons:

    1) CPU Use.  This game is relatively bad with the CPU.  Shadows are the bane of FPS as they are calculated on the CPU.  Why Nvidia doesn't work on developing something called ShadeX instead of PhysX I don't know.  :P  I'd love some GPU-Managed Shadows.

    2) Input Lag.  With HPET off, and this app on, turning off some of the features I disabled not only increase FPS, but improve input lag "significantly."  It should be somewhat noticeable in the scenes where I'm quickly moving the mouse/view around.  It is just as responsive as a game like BF3 with this configuration.

If I were to take a before/after picture of the game with full maxed out settings, versus what I have, you'd be hard pressed to find more than a 10% image quality difference.  However, you'd see FPS and input lag improved significantly.  I couldn't play Crysis 3 before these changes.  Now, it's an enjoyable game.  Other than the whole "I'm utterly disappointed by Crysis 3" thing.  It's my fault for comparing too many games to how amazing of a port Battlefield 3 was.  If Crytek can't take Crysis 3 and port it to PC and have it look better/run better than BF3, which EA ported a year ago, then I think it's fair to voice some criticism.

Anyhow, I have 3 GTX Titan's on pre-order now and will test performance again once they arrive.  And of course, they are EVGA GTX Titan's.  I think Jacob and Colton would kill me otherwise.  :P

Does Crysis 3 have any config edits? The game just came out. Im sure there will be some config commands to utilize the CPU more or better. Similar to how World of Warcraft had that thread optimization command no one knew about for the longest time.

You could use the cvar editor released by Crytek themselves.  It is a little too indepth for most users, however:

Just curious...is there any scenario where this could work the opposite & kill your framerate?

Same thing happened with me. Once i download and installed the latest driver 314.07 this tool didn't help much at all. I was playing online and would jump back and fourth every few seconds changing between default and max and didn't notice a difference.

This would probably still be a nice tool for newer games once they release that dont have the latest driver support.

I wonder if this tool works for planet side 2, so far PS2 runs far worse and destroys cpus more than anything else i have ever seen.

Didn't really increase any framerate for me,  It did send me in a black screen loop alt tabbing after i activated it tho.

It depends on your default timer resolution. Mine is 0.977 and pressing maximum brings me to 0.488. Not much of a change there so I don't get much of an improvement. If your default is more like 10.000 like in his video you should expect a nice improvement. It should work with any game. Try it with 3Dmark11.
