Compatibility and Performance
Specialist, high-specification motherboards such as the ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-F and ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO are required for DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB DDR5 6,600 MHz to reach its stated frequency. Not all 12th Generation Intel Core Processors support DDR5 frequencies of 6,600 MHz. A top-binned Intel CORE i9-12900K is recommended to reach 6,600 MHz.

They will kind of need to drop ddr4 support so the memory controller is full ddr5. That is kind of the issue and the needing of a good chip I imagine, could be wrong. Once I imagine at this point 14th gen comes along we will see higher speeds maintained easier on ddr5 without the need of good cpu.

Great to see higher frequencies with lower timings. No mention of price though, that would've been nice. The DDR5-6400 kits have dropped $200 since Alder Lake launched, hopefully pricing continues falling at the same rate.
 
Can't wait to see what a dedicated DDR5 controller can do with memory kits like these. Currently Alder Lake chips are a crapshoot as to if the IMCs can handle them, Buildzoid recently had a vid showing a 12600KF that can achieve memory settings his 12900KS cannot.
