Would a tri-channel kit of Corsair Dominator 1600 RAM work well on an EVGA X58 758 board?

I was hearing that they tend to underclock themselves and at times you are unable to get them running at there correct specifications. Should i really worry about this?, or should i just go ahead and pick them up?

Your going to get differing opinions on this much like you would on almost any brand of ram.
I put together my new build back in mid December, using 6gb of Corsair Dominator GT 1600 mhz  cas7 triple channel ram, and to date I have not had a single issue with it.

I will note at my current overclock of 180 qpi my ram is running at app 1440 mhz, with 7-7-7-20-1t timings.

If you go to Tiger Direct where they are selling this board, it states that in order to use 1600mhz RAM you have to do a BIOS update.

I have been running 6GB of Corsair Dominator 1600 RAM with my EVGA X58 758 board since June and it has been great. My I7 system is overclocked to 4.0GB and the memory is running at 1600Mhz (if I remember correctly but I will have to check, it has been a while since it was setup). I have not had one problem with it.

You may or may not have to Update Bios, depending on what version it has, But you will have to OC, the 920's stock setup is for 1066 at 1.5 V, the 1600 will require 1.65. you may need additional VTT, Corsair, has good stuff, but everyone person that posts here will tell you a deferent experiance with every piece of equipment they have tried, and how well it worked for them, what you want know until you try , is how well it works for you.

I am still using the bios that came with my 758 13 months ago lol. Most of the updated bios cause more problems than they fix.

So RAM at 1333 will work straight out of the box?

It will work, but be read and function at 1066 with 1.5 volts Until bios is adjusted, 2:12X133.3 (Stock)= 1600 2:10 1333, 2:8=1066
above 1066 voltage needs to be 1.65( check to see if thats what mem says, some are diferent )
