I doubt EVGA is making any money doing this, the shipping cost fee it most likely just to cover the shipping. EVGA doesn't do the amount of shipping that say Amazon does, so doesn't get mega-discounts in bulk like they do, at least that's my guess. Still, I guess I do wonder about how much it does cost them... OH! I know, they are pulling an Oprah and giving everyone a car! that's why the shipping is so much! ...Maybe?

Hi! I'm EVGA GTX 980ti FTW owner, but I'll gonna sell the card and buy Gtx 1080 instead with free GoW4 game promo. I know about that free Powerlink promo, but is there any good information about Russian customers? EVGA gets more and more fans here with its service and quality products, but still ignore our big market with step up and extended warranty programs. What about Powerlink, will it be available for order in Russia? Can I use a friend or a freight forwarder to get Powerlink to their USA warehouse and then they forward it to me overseas? Thanks!

I haven't purchased my video card yet but plan to soon. Is there an expiration date to this offer?

Reading the fine print scares me a little. Sounds like if you use these and they mess up your card EVGA is of the hook as far as warranty is concerned. I could be misunderstanding. Read the terms. Also, to everyone complaining about the shipping cost...don't get them. If you want to wait until they are in your local brick and mortar you can save the $15 on shipping for up to four powerlinks, and just buy them individually for $30 + applicable taxes. What a deal! Right?

I purchased a few EVGA cards that qualify for this. So if I have 3 coming my way, I only have to pay one shipping charge, right? Or is each one shipped separately? EDIT: NM, 2-4 will cost $14.99 shipping.

18 EUR shipping? So our "free" PowerLink is actually 13EUR + 5 EUR shipping...

No, it would still be $18 shipping plus the price of the device.

Yea, the shipping is way too expensive. Sending a small box from germany to hungary would cost about 5-10EUR at max. 18 EUR still worth it though, it's like a nice discount.

Hey just wanting to know what the depth is of the powerlink. You guys have the external measurements but not how thick it is. I have a Corsair Air 240 case with a 1080 FTW Hybrid in but cant close the lid as the power cables get in the way... there is some room there I am hoping this will allow me to squeeze the lid shut, any chance of getting its depth measurement ?

I'm sure EVGA have figured out a way to benefit from this "free" offer, maybe taking a slice off the shipping itself. In my experience, nothing is free, and if it is, there's gotta be a reason or motive why. Out of the kindness of their heats ? lol, they're a corporation, don't expect freebies from an institution who's sole purpose it to make the largest profit margins possible, and think they're out of pocket because they care. Might even be a bargaining chip to counter bad publicity from all the Pascal issues we've been seeing. Anyways enough of that, my one and only question is, can i use this thing on other graphics, or just certain EVGA cards ? If its just exclusive to EVGA cards, then i aint gonna bother paying shipping on a free trinket that'l most likely cause more issues than solve. I mean look at where it sits, you can't say it won't impede airflow to a certain degree. idk.

NucleusX, They have been very clear that the powerlink works on other vendors graphics cards as long as the power connectors are close to the end of the card and facing the right way. Certainly the marketing value of happy powerlink owners is usefull to a company such as evga.

Sigh. Gotta love the entitlement. There's not just shipping costs involved (which is actually a third party cost, not EVGA), there's also packaging and processing, related labor costs, billing costs (all credit card payment processors take several % cut from every transaction), tariffs for overseas shipments which I presume is why you are complaining. Shipping in US48 is $9.99 I believe, which is perfectly reasonable. Their motive for this offer I believe is because of the issues with the early release cards and EVGA wanting to retain their reputation as having the top customer service around. This 'trinket' as you call it is something extra - the device itself is free, you only pay shipping - what is so unreasonable about that? The cards with the issues were in most cases replaced via cross-shipping at zero cost to the customer which no other card retailer anywhere offers. The power cables sticking out the front of graphics cards like a pair of dog's balls have always been an aesthetics issue for builders wanting to make their rigs look perfect, and this 'trinket' as you call it is a great solution. I don't see it impeding airflow any more than the traditional setup - and it may actually improve airflow depending on your build. I might have even answered your question if you weren't being such a prat. Have a good day.

Well i'm sorry if that offended you, but after you calculate things as an "customer" the idea of it being "free" is totally negated by the high shipping costs, so can you really call it free ? If i where to walk into a retail store and purchased this somehow, it would most likely cost less. I get the aesthetics thing and other points you made, but EVGA's internal budgeting is non of my business, and not my concern, its their's. My concern is trying to make the most out of every dollar I've already laid out for the card. Currently I'm more concerned with the life-span of my purchase and don't particularly like the idea laying out MORE money for a "free" accessory. I'm already tasked with having to strip my 1070 down to install "free" thermal pads and filled with caution after reading all the alarming posts about bigger problems than just "aesthetics". So forgive me for not jumping up n down at a distracting "trinket'. I'd prefer to see practical bios and hardware solutions to a long list of problems that need addressing. That's where the real value is for me, getting all the real problems solved to bring these cards up to par.

Aight, I'll digress, a bit. May have been a little abrasive there. Its been very frustrating for me the past few months continuing to read about all the land mines i could be faced with after purchasing. Nothing RMA'able has occurred to me just yet. I don't remember seeing those problems promised or mentioned in EVGA's marketing when making my decision to buy it, they all surfaced later, after people laid out a lot of cash for them. So in that context, i can't help but feel some disdain for a corporation that easily took my money, and wasn't made aware of nasty surprises till after the purchase, and then wave around these "free" accessories like we're supposed to forget everything else. Sorry, but i ain't introducing another potentially damaging variable into my system until your core products are strengthened first. What seems to be the icing on the cake for me tho, is that EVGA hasn't produced any significant solutions for us yet after all these months. Although I'm willing to concede the Micron debacle is an exception. It mostly seems they'd rather spend more time on distracting us with toys, than actually fixing these core problems, or even get PXOC to work properly. I still to this day have a calibration issue with my RGB's that have not been addressed, and as insignificant as some would find that, it really is concerning to see even these small things are not being resolved in a timely manner. Now all it feels like is just me spending a huge amount of money on a ticking time bomb that could die any day, and may never see any improvements or resolved issues. Its kind of insulting to me to see that happening to many people, and then expecting people to be all like super gracious over this "free" thing. Short story, please EVGA, put some time and effort into fortifying our cards with real tangible solutions, and stop with these ridiculous "free" distractions. You won't regain your reputation by ignoring everything else. When i pay good money in exchange for a product, is it really too much for me to expect a solid robust product that was properly engineered and tested without nasty surprises that are only apparent later, or expecting it to actually live up to the marketing hype exactly how it was advertised ? If that's what you call entitled, then so be it, you might as-well be owned by them and send them "free" money with that kind of mentality, its not consumer productive. 20 years ago it was corporations that chased us and tried to prove their product is more worthy than another's, now its the other way round with us having to prove ourselves as loyal customers that are expected to compromise on faults. What the hell happened to us to get to this point ? lol, now we're all idiotic consumers ready to bend over for trinkets ?

I have to agree with one thing. You can't really call it free if you have to pay for it to be shipped. Maybe they should have used better wording instead of flat out calling it free?

This is a simple game you want to cry about shipping cost than don't get one. It is funny to me how people who purchase $600+ video cards cry about shipping of an item that suggested retail is $30. In my case heck I will happily pay $14.99 for shipping for two vs $60+shipping anyways. Either way a person is paying for shipping for an item this isn't amazon prime to expect free shipping. Do the math people $30+shipping or just Just shipping which do you think is a better deal. I too would like clarification on the fine print, after reading it I am also taking it if damage is done to the card they aren't responsible. My concern with this is the weight of this item and the PSU cables might damage/strain the PCI-E plugs on the card.

I call saving $29.99 Dollars is Free. http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=600-PL-2816-LR ericc191 I have to agree with one thing. You can't really call it free if you have to pay for it to be shipped. Maybe they should have used better wording instead of flat out calling it free?
NucleusX Aight, I'll digress, a bit.
NucleusX I'm sure EVGA have figured out a way to benefit from this "free" offer, maybe taking a slice off the shipping itself. I mean look at where it sits, you can't say it won't impede airflow to a certain degree. idk.
I call it Promoting a new Piece Of Hardware. Get your Facts Right about the New Graphics Cards and Air Flow. This Power Link is meant for the GTX 1xxx Cards and their is no air flow in the front of the cards anymore (For the Most Part). Myself they are going on Water Cooled Graphics Cards and their is Zero Air Flow, Only Water Flow.

Shipping is going out Nov 1. I just ordered my GTX 1070 FTW and expect to get it between Oct 31 and Nov 3. Is there a way that I can get the PowerLink processed before I get my card so I can make the Nov 1st shipment?

I admitted I might've been outta line, and yeh i guess i was, by venting my opinion out of the lack of priority given to core features and reliability in the wrong thread ultimately. Not the place to do it. So i will apologize for that.
