I bought a GTX 1070 FTW on August and have an invoice of it, but didn't register the card until recently for the Thermal issue. Could I still get the PowerLink for free?

From the offer page:
"Own an EVGA GeForce GTX 1080, 1070, or 1060 graphics card that was purchased on or before October 31, 2016? If so, you qualify for a FREE* EVGA PowerLink™ while supplies last!"

How long did it take others to get there request to pay sent to them?  I got approved yesterday, figured it would be today but still haven't received anything.   I am excited to finish up my case wiring with these things.

10 bucks for shipping? Does this thing weigh 20 lbs? What a joke

Entitlement strikes again. Why is that shipping cost a joke to you? Do you have any clue what shipping costs? You're getting the Powerlink FREE - that's $29.99 retail, you just pay shipping, so let me educate you on shipping costs:

USPS priority mail small flat rate box (8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8") is $6.80 to anywhere in US. The Powerlink may not fit in there though, depending on the retail packaging it comes in... I know from just last week or so that a Samsung 850 EVO SSD in retail packaging wont fit in one of those small flat rate boxes. The USPS supply those boxes for free btw.

If the EVGA Powerlink product packaging is too big, the next size up is $13.45 for the medium flat rate box.

They also have a flat rate padded envelope (12.5" x 9.5") which is $6.80 shipping, but only if you use their envelopes. I sent a Samsung 850 EVO in my own padded envelope (same size) through Paypal about a week ago, and it cost $8.40 via priority mail, and that's with a discounted rate through Paypal, and to a nearby state.

USPS put their rates up recently, so $9.99 shipping does not appear to be that excessive at all, and you also have to factor in handling, labor overheads etc..

Seriously can't believe EVGA are getting flak from some people for offering to give this item away free. If it were me, I'd withdraw the offer.

Cmon man don't you know Free means free....  lmao

I wonder how many people would volunteer to go and work for free preparing and boxing these to shipped.   Like you posted man people don't think at all before they talk they just want free stuff.... I swear it kills me people will spend $600 on a video card and than cry about spending another $9 lol.  If it is too much for ya than wait till it for sale and spend $29.99 plus whatever shipping cost will be.   They are giving us a free $29.99 product the least we can do is pay the company for shipping and cost of there manpower to prepare these wonderful gifts to be sent to us.

It would be entitlement, if the person thought they deserve to take part in this promotion, when they don't qualify for it. Not for questioning the S&H costs. You do know it only costs evga around $1.36 to ship out thermal pad kits to select GTX1070/1080FTW owners. The powerlink shipping will be around that price too.

The S&H fee is a bit high, but it won't bankrupt anyone.

Bingo, I can't believe that some people are whining over 10 measly little dollars. Especially on something they are choosing to signup for and partake in.  (This generation grows more entitled and delusional by the day.)

It's $15USD or ~$20CAD for shipping to Canada. That's too much for me for some little cosmetic thing to hide a cable. I'll pass but's not a bad offer if you're in the States

Well said. I doubt anyone has a problem paying $10 for this, it is about honesty. From my experience in this area I would estimate that you are close to the cost for corporate shipping rates. Being a new product, per unit manufacturing costs are still a little higher then they will be because of initial R & D and production setup. Likely $8 or less each, down to $5 or less after 6-12 months. They are not losing money by giving these away "free", there may even be a small profit which will cover labor costs etc. The point I think he was making is that these do not cost $10 to ship. Tell me it is $10 with free shipping, or $5 with $5 shipping. Be honest, most people know generally what shipping cost and it kind of smacks you in the face when you see $10 "shipping" for something this size. It is still a good gesture by EVGA in the end.

This would not be "profit" but more along the lines of an operating cost. Seriously, this complaint over a measly $10 is getting beyond old. Besides, none of us know the shipping partnership EVGA and UPS have. None of us know the daily operating costs or anything therein. Adults (young or not) who have spent $400+ on a luxury item, are complaining about a tiny cost for an optional accessory.

$10 is tracked and recorded shipping, I pay the same at my local post office, I don't understand the complaining either, If people are so annoyed that they have to pay shipping on a FREE item that would otherwise cost them $30 plus $10 shipping, they simply shouldn't take part.

Priority is around $7 and First Class is around $3 for packages under 1lbs. Both have tracking. I think your post office is charging you too much.

Here in Europe if you use DHL or UPS it costs up to $15 and EVGA do use UPS here in Europe so it's not any more than is normally charged.

Ok, how about handling costs? These don't just jump into the packaging, print their own labels and ship themselves. It's 10 measly little dollars.

That $7 for Priority is only if you use the USPS Priority Mail packaging and depends if the Powerlink will fit in their box. The small size Priority Mail boxes ($6.80 shipping when paid online, which is cheaper) wont even fit a Samsung EVO SSD in retail packaging, so the next step up is Medium box which is $13.45. ALL post offices have the same prices.

A standard 12.5" x 9.5" bubble envelope I sent Priority Mail a week ago cost $8.40 when paid online, and that was to a nearby state. If you use one of the USPS bubble envelopes it's $6.80.

A bubble packing envelope and USPS 1st class postage would be about 2-3 bucks.

Go to USPS and price it yourself. I'm in NYC, EVGA is in CA. For a large envelope USPS Retail Ground (about 1 week delivery) it's $7.84...  not $2-3. The padded envelope flat rate Priority Mail is actually cheaper, at $6.80 (providing you use their special envelopes) with 2-3 day delivery. Shipping costs are not what they were even a few months back. UPS is also currently at an all-time high for shipping rates. Again, don't have to believe me, go check it out for yourself.
