Hey folks, Does anyone here have a build similar to this? I am upgrading from a late 2009 build and want a beast PC for the next 8-10 years. Few things I'm looking at tweaking are; finding a 32GB kit of EVGA RAM, going down to an 800 watt PSU, waiting for the aftermarket TI's to be released. Trying to keep all parts EVGA. Anyone have any suggestions or tips they can give me? Thanks in advance.

You could save $$ by making your own Windows 10 (16GB) USB boot drive and spending $20-30 for a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OEM Key from places like ebay. I did that and made a driver/software folder on USB boot drive, that way i have all the drivers/software i need after doing a format. Theme builds are cool, but i wouldn't want to make compromises to do one. I like hardware from different manufacturers. Just make sure you research any hardware you go with including the case to make sure your aware of issue/complaints people have with them.

That would be an awesome build. You made some great choices. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Only thing I'd suggest is a bigger monitor - both size and resolution; a 27" monitor at 2560x1440 is ideal imho. Unfortunately EVGA doesn't sell those. yet.

You could get better performance for less money. Different mobo (around $80 savings) Different Case (around $90 savings) Smaller PSU (if you plan on using just one GPU) ($100+ savings) Buy OEM Windows 10 Pro 64-bit key from sites like ebay and make your own USB boot drive ($90 savings) Some of the money you save could go toward a faster and bigger SSD like the Samsung 960 EVO Series - 500GB NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD ($249). EVGA DG-87 is poorly designed and screams cheaply made due to all the plastic. The bottom front intake fan on it is 80% blocked. http://i.imgur.com/dr9kHrO.jpg Just wanted to give you something to think about before you making the final decision. Some people around here think we should only push evga products onto people, we shouldn't dare talk about other mfg's products that has more or better features for less $$.

I went with an EVGA theme setup, but I went with the LGA 1011-V3 i7-5820K CPU and EVGA X99 Classified motherboard and a 1200W PSU. Absolutely love it. Like Nereus says, go with a 27" monitor at the least.

Looks like a nice build you have planned Regards to 32 GB RAM kits - 16GB is a sweet spot for most PCs even gaming Mixing kits of RAM, many work - however you might have to change the timing to a slightly slower setting

I don't even knew, that EVGA offers RAM. Never saw it before lol. Btw safe your money and don't buy Windows 10 there. For the saved money you could get a Samsung 960 Pro instead.

Regarding the monitor VG248QE, love it, i've had one since release and have rcently bought a new 27" Dell 2560x1440 144hz monitor too. I'd have to say that the Dell monitor looks a lot nicer @ 1440P, but the VG248QE is a great monitor too and i've kept it side by side with my new 27"
