I am trying to convert my DVD & Bluray library to use on portable devices and HTPC. I have been using Handbrake, which is fine, but slow. Is there something better that can use all cores and has CUDA support. I did some Googling & looked around here but don't really see any one stick out as the go to solution. Some report A/V sync issues or lower video quality. Some report crashing issues.
Any one have a favorite they use, and can recommend?

Check out some VSO products...I think the Video Converter is the one you want though.  I've used convertxtodvd from them for the past 3-4 years and and is simply the best compared to others.

I have used Any Video Converter since 2006. I do not like the newer version and still use version 3.5.8 (available here). I disable the prompt for updates and enable GPU acceleration under Edit and Preferences. You can add many files to the queue and walk away. I also use and like Handbrake. I'm honestly not sure how much faster or possibly slower AVC is. I do know I like AVC more and use it a lot more often than Handbrake.

If you are interested in a high quality encoding then you do not want to use a CUDA encoder.  I would stick to handbrake and tweak the settings to make it faster.  CUDA encoder can be faster, but at the expense of quality.  You can speed up a CPU encode a lot too at the expense of some quality.

Just understand a CUDA or QuickSync encoder is not faster than a CPU for video encoding when you adjust the encoders for the same output quality.  It's just useful if you don't want your CPU completely utilized during the long encoding process.

And the problem with CUDA and Quicksync encoders is you can't adjust them to high quality other than using a really high bitrate which will produce a large file.  With a CPU encoder like x264 you can adjust very fine settings to get a high quality output in a very small file, it just takes a long time to encode.

Just as an FYI for your link. The archived file is reporting to contain the MalSign.OpenCandy.7AF adware/virus within the installer itself. You may want to find a cleaner link to the application in order to prevent other users from getting malware on their systems.

    i use xillosoft    http://www.xilisoft.com/video-converter.html

it is the best and what i love is it supports Cuda  GPU rendering as well as the fact  it will show you a graph  of all  your CPU cores and can do multi-videos at the same time with no issues and at anytime you can uncheck  cores   and  assign and allow only  anywhere from 1 to how evert many cores you got . image below from there site   as yopu can see below is  it shows you 4 CPU cores as well  and  if you had say a 32 core system or threaded chip it shows you 32 threads  and you can  disable any of them to slow down  or enable to speed up encoding

Is there a converter that supports SLI? I've tried several and they all seem to only use 1 card. I convert hundreds of movies per week, would be nice to see one that uses all four of my X's.

I'd recommend Acethinker Video Converter which I have used for many years. It's a free web-based application to convert videos, you don't have to install anything. Support CUDA.

The biggest trouble of handbrake for me is the limited output formats-mp4 and mkv and the disability of batch conversion.

Sir, it seems that you know a lot about video converters, i also have a related question and want to know whether you know the solution. Yesterday, i find this article about video conversion and it recommend me to download their video converter to convert MP4 format. In the tutorial, as you can see  from ( they claim that the video size can be compressed after conversion process. However, after i converted my MP4 to AVI format, the size got bigger, around 40 percent bigger than the original one while the quality stayed the same. How strange it is. Do you know what may happen during the conversion?

I too am looking for a solution for my blue ray library. As it stands now I need to convert all of my physical disks to digital to store on my NAS. I used to use Nero however that was a decade ago and no worries on the whole copyright issue. Obviously things have changed over the years and would love to find a program to rip them all.
