Before i actually go out and buy an EVGA X58 and RAM i would like to know which Corsair RAM is most compatable with the motherboard. I spent a lot of money on my previous setup which was a XFX 790i, 2x XFX GTX 280 + Corsair RAM and i experience computer lock ups / restarts on a weekly basis which to this point still haven't figured out what is causing it. My setup will be: EVGA X58 Classified (3 way SLI version) i7 930 CPU HD 5970 or new GTX300 series card At the moment im leaning towards the Corsair CMG6GX3M3A1600C7 6GB Kit Dominator GT and wondering if this is 100% compatible with the EVGA X58 motherboard. My computer will be used for gaming and light overclocking.

The RAM you're looking at are good but a little on the pricey side. Personally I use G.Skill ram. They are as good as Corsair for less money. These are the ones I use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231254 I can run them at 1600 Cas 6 and sometimes 2000 at Cas 8. Pretty much any RAM from Corsair, G.Skill, and Mushkin are compatible to the X58 since its probably the board they used to test the sticks. Also the new gtx series is 4** not 3**

My computer will be used for gaming and light overclocking. You should be able to run that RAM with no issue at all. Plus, you can't go wrong with Corsair. I wouldn't use any other RAM. Right now, I'm running 12 GB of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224 and I have no problem at all. I even have my Core i7 920 overclocked to 4.0 ghz @ 1.29 vCore. It looks like the only difference between the Dominator GT and the regular Dominator series RAM is that the GT seems to have better timings. The GT kit you're looking at runs at 7-7-7-20. The kit I have runs at 8-8-8-24 memory timings. So basically it's the same RAM, but has tighter timings so it probably has better performance. I hope this helps :)

Dominators, Dominator GTs, Dominator GTX, XMS3. Wait, Corsair doesn't make any DDR3 that isn't compatible with EVGA's X58 boards.

ok so according to the compatibility list from EVGA the i7 930 CPU is not on there and the Corsair RAM is very limited? Why is this and will it be a problem?

I just bought a set of Dominator for my system today since I have to RMA my Mushkin 998691s. I would recommend them or Mushkin. The i7 930 is a direct replacement for the i7 920. There shouldn't be a issue with Corsair at all. So if you read some reviews on the 930, Intel just did some refinements on the 930 notably bumped up the stock Ghz from 2.66, (for the 920) to 2.8 for 930. Here's a link to read a review on the 930: http://www.bit-tech.net/h...e-i7-930-cpu-review/1. Cheers

Hi guys, It's time to revive this thread I'm looking for a good ~2000Mhz DDR3 Tri-Channel Kit. I want no more to go with my P55 Rig, so I decided to buy an X58 Classified and go to the extreme this time, but I don't know which Rams are the best choice. Does anybody know a good Site where I can find a serious list of tested Rams, maybe a top ten for the best Rams 2010? PS: Isn't the Classified-Memory-Support-List (from second post) out of date? I'm sure it supports more than that.

For a good 2000Mhz kit, I would suggest the following: (From best price/performance ratio) G Skill Pi+Turbulence Corsair Dominators GT Kingston HyperX T1 G Skill Trident (Least expensive, ok performance) I would get the G Skill Pi+Turbelence due to the low timings and its pricing is very aggressive compared to Corsair. I am thinking of getting a kit of these as soon as they come back in stock.

wmarples Heres the compatibility list for the X58: http://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/ These are what I'm running, and have no problems: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224 I'm pretty sure other people around here have the kit your looking at, so you might want to wait for one of them to post, but I'm willing to bet you wouldnt have any trouble with the ones your looking at. That compatibility list is close to worthless. A tiny sampling. But lots of memory vendors do their own compatibility testing. I have built three rigs with Corsair Dominators and been happy every time. Two of the cards were EVGA, an SLI x58 758-A1 and an FTW-3.

Yes don't listen to the compatibility list IMO it's full BS, anyways I run me some G.skill ripjaws 2000 6gb kit, they're great! I've had to Rma one stick though, the Rma is the easiest I've ever done! Corsair is great but I would recommend g.skill though

Hmmmm it's a hard decision... Corsair Dominator GT or GTX and G.skill Trident seems to be exellent memory and they would look hot on the Classified. What do you think about OCZ Reaper? http://www.ocztechnology....voltage_triple_channel Any experiences?

Yeah, thank you all for the good memory suggestions. I think I will order the G.skill Trident... The performance and stability seems to be very good on pretty each mainboard (looking at some user reviews) and they will look so awesome on the Classified, cause they fit perfectly to its color theme

Hi there, I have EVGA X58 Classified 3 and I am currently running the system with 6 GB DDR3 2133 Mhz, but I'd like to put 24 GB which is the limit of the motherboard. So I checked the list of RAM which is supported by this mobo and I have not seen the following: Corsair Vengeance 24GB (6x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ24GX3M6A1600C9) Do you think that my mobo will rise with this memory? :). i believe that it will, but not sure. i will use Xeon X5650 for my system to replace the old Core i7 950.

Memory compatibility charts are rarely ever updated past 3 months of a boards' release by most manufacturers anyways,... so it would be extremely rare for them to go back and test more sticks , like these. ( which I believe came out after this board went to retail ) Best bet is to buy from a store with a good return policy , just in case.

Most memory brands will work in the X58. You can always ask the manufacturer if you are not sure. Corsair for example has a memory finder app on their website.
