Dear EVGA,

I just received my 3080ti FTW3 package yesterday (10/20/21) but the box is badly damage (so as the shipping box).  I called your customer service yesterday.  Your customer service personnel just assured me that the packaging inside the box is enough to protect the GPU and instructed me to just open the box and test the GPU which I did last night.   The GPU seems to be fine (outside) and I installed it to my PC this morning (10/21/21) and currently doing some stress testing.

Now, that I am looking at the box again... I know for sure that I cannot accept this in the long run so I better return this for a new one.
I know this is just a petty thing to others, but it is a big deal to me.  Having a nice and shinny box is a must to me.

If I survived waiting for several months in the QUEUE, I can survive some more days just to have a nice product from EVGA.
I paid for it, I should get what I paid for.

It so shameful that a retailer like Newegg ships better that EVGA.

Here are some of the pictures.

    ouch...that doesn't look good....

More a shipper problem than eVGA (tho eVGA really needs to up their packing game....I don't like how they ship
    the cards now).

Edit: I'm more a "If the card works I'm fine" kind of guy...but I'd be loathe to open that box without eVGA acknowledging it (and I see they acknowledged and instructed you to open)...if they're
willing to replace it with a new one, even better.

    The shipper is EVGA.

A 15x5x10 shipping box can fit a 15x5x10 GPU box, but then there’s virtually no room for packing material. This should change so that GPU boxes and their contents are better protected. Otherwise, you can blame whichever carrier was used in this case for smashing the box.

Yeah, EVGA shipping is pretty bad. They ship in a flimsy brown box that is exactly the same size as the cards box and zero padding. I never get a card from EVGA that doesn't have a damaged box. I don't like that but what are you going to do?

You're misinterpreting ....eVGA is the retailer who SOLD you the card.

    The shipper is UPS/FedEx/USPS.....

    You mean Courier.... LOL
I was thinking shipper......as the one who shipped the product.
    Sorry for the mis-understanding.

Even though, EVGA shipped the product without cushioning...the shipping box is as big as the GPU's retail box.
Do you expect UPS/FedEx/USPS to take some TLC (cuddle) to the package from California to Illinois?

nah....It's all good...I can't think of anyone in my circle of friends who uses "courier"...heh....I wasn't meaning to sound
like an ass either, sorry about that

I NEVER expect the ..uhm..courier ....to treat the boxes properly...so that's why I expect more cushioning in the box
    to protect the item...*shrug*

I just shipped my 3080 back to EVGA for a 3080 Ti step up, and I reused the box EVGA ships these cards with. However, I was able to wrap a layer of bubble wrap length and width-wise since there was just enough room for it. Now, that’s still insufficient packing material, in my opinion, but it’s better than how these cards are shipped from EVGA. I’d have gone a different route with a bigger box and some packing peanuts, but that’d have been an added $15 or so. I would know because I just shipped my 2080 to a friend with store-bought shipping materials, and packing peanuts definitely don’t cost peanuts. I figured if the box and lack of packing material was good enough for EVGA to ship to me, using the same box with a bit of packing material should be good enough for their RMA department to accept it.

Hi Epal2Apol, I'm sorry your package was beat up in transit so badly. Glad to hear the card seems to be okay though. We can send you a new empty retail box if you like, that's not a problem at all, that way you don't have to send the card back and have any downtime. shoot me an email at jwilda@evga.com and I can get that going for you!

LoL, I just downgraded. I was in the que for the 3060 ti and got contacted to buy one. Just installed a couple of days ago. I'm coming from the FTW3 variant of the 3080 ti. It's getting sold.🙂

I’d keep the 3080 Ti and have passed on the 3060 Ti, but that’s me. So long as you’re happy with what you have, that’s what matters.
