ASRock was spun off completely from Asus. Since 2010 Pegatron has been spun off and transferred to it's own wholly owned subsidiary. Since then Pegatron and it's subsidiary ASRock have been completely independant of Asus.

This. It's been interesting to watch the ASUS vs ASRock mainboard wars with this in context.  I have to give props to ASRock for not only getting serious but inventive with its board designs, as well as making design decisions ASUS tends to conveniently skip over on its own boards.

The reviews are so bogus on that banana slicer.           ;)

Yeah, I bought a banana slicer and it sucked.

Wow, I hadn't realized that they had gone independent.  I guess due to their subsidized ownership, they allow them to have their logo straight up resemble Asus lol
