Anyone want to make recommendations or share your experience with a Home 3D printer
 
Budget <$500
 
What brands to look at or avoid?
 
Breakage & consumables, besides the plastic filament is one thing that could raise the true cost of ownership
 
My planned use - I would make some smaller parts to mod some PC builds. 
 
In Mod Rigs, One member in Mod Rigs mentioned he made his own open case, looks cool
 
I've been exposed to professional grade (expensive) machines in the past .... lunch & learn, play with the software with our local sales rep selling some $6K - 10K industrial machines
 
I found this one on Sale Newegg for only $129 - they are sold out now.  I have No idea how good or bad that brand is ?
 
Anyone use UPS store service for 3D printing ?
 
Did you hiring a service to print your parts ?

    I have used a service called Shapeways to have a few 3D parts printed for an ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero Z270 mobo (ASUS supplied the 3D plans). Nameplate and a m.2 fan mount (see pics)
