NO I have never even heard of them,  but since they are by Tritton , I would have to guess they should be OK...
...but I normally stay away from Mad-Catz products

There is quite a bit of difference between a headset costing $30, and a headset costing $200.  No comparison to be honest.  And at the risk of sounding biased, there is no comparison between a headset that simulates 5.1, and the Psyko which actually has the correct number of speakers that are properly placed the same as a 5.1 system in a house.

For just a little more, I would go with these.  I love mine.

Okay, I was looking at these and was, like... meh... until I saw the speakers in the headband?!?

So how do these work for you exactly?

Also, here is a review I wrote on it a while ago.

I like the concept behind the Psyko headset but I don't like all that action on my head.  I prefer to use my speakers and subwoofer.

I would think these would be extremely loud with lots of sound able to be heard on the other end of the house for the way I play.
Specially since I'm used to the silence I get inside of my G930's.

No, they're actually quite quiet unless you open the ear flaps on the cups.  They are there for dual purpose.  First to allow you to hear what's going on around you if you need to or close them if you don't, and second, they provide ventilation to your ears for long gaming sessions so your ears don't get too hot.

The speakers in the headband are sealed off and the sound travels through the waveguides to the two ports in each ear cup.  One port in front of each ear and one behind each ear.  Then also in each ear cup is a subwoofer.

I will say this.  If you want to these for mostly music, and only some gaming, then stay away.  They are not very musically accurate.  But if you want them almost exclusively for gaming, then they are a must have.

I would get this if you want a wireless headset option ;P
5.8GHz works to 100ft even though it says 33ft
It should work for PC/PS3 and Xbox 360 even though it says only PC/Xbox 360
PS3 you will need a USB that can take in the Microphone like a bluetooth

My friend has those psyco headphones and they are horrendous....It is like listening through tin cans since the speakers are on the top of your head and travel through to the ears, bad directional detection as well. No opinion on the newer version as ive not listened to them. The turtle beach HPA2's listed earlier are nice, true 5.1, great volume control for center, rear, bass. The bass is pretty darn good for some headphones and you can tell the direction a sound is coming from. Dont like the amplifier.....sometimes it will randomly emite a high pitch noise and you have to flip it off and then back on.

Can you use Psyko Amplifier with different headsets or does it become worthless if something happens to the headset?

I would avoid the Tritton headsets as they're cheaply made and the sound is ok at best. I hear Psyko headsets are really good but I went with a Logitech G35 cause it was on sale for $80.

I suppose that you could use the amplifier with a pair of 5.1 speakers, but then you would be amplifying an already amplified signal and ending up with a lot of noise and distortion.  As far as another headset, there is no other headset designed like this so, no you can't use it with another headset.

I've had these for about a year now, and I can agree that when I first got them they sounded awful for music.  However, after a good break in period, they became much nicer.

Here's a review of the original Psyko prototype I read almost two years ago. This review lead me to get my G35's, which are very comfortable, and the sound direction is pretty good. The usb connection does limit there use, but I don't like listening to music with headphones unless I have to...they are for gaming. The original projected cost of the Psyko's, and the limited availability at the time, lead me to get the G35's, but I've always thought the Psyko's would be awesome.

    Go for these

looking for more info on these basically are they usb or 3.5 connection?
specs don't say either way and a good headset is never a usb headset.
to all the logitech lovers out there i suggest you try more high end headsets.
logitech sound bad to me and any headset with more the 2 cones ie 5.1 headset is a gimick sale, you will never get true 5.1 sound in a closed ear headset.

    3.5mm
They sound a lot better than 5.1 in virtualization

the AKG GHS1 is a HQ headset except for the design of the Mic but it can pick up your voice regardless how fat your cheeks are

For $20 off($79.95+Free Shipping) it should be an instant buy poor Europeans have to pay 130.64 euros(which is like $199.99) so us Americans get the bargain deal....so, if you aren't American good luck forking that amount lol ^
