Nope, and I just opened a Preferred Account last week.  Odd that they wouldn't have said anything to me about the change.   If they are just being dropped and starting their own credit line similar to the Amazon store card, then sweet, I'm more than ok with that!

Yeah, got the same e-mail. Not sure the store card will be much different, although I did not use it that much. Nice to have the options, though.

Same here. I also wonder if the email is legit.         

No email here either. I've been with them since 2006.

I would give them a call. Something doesn't sound right. Wasn't Newegg Preferred Account powered by Billmelater anyway? That should have then transferred to Paypal., because PayPal bought out Billmelater.

Did the conversation continue, and did you learn anything about what's going to happen in the future?
 
I got the same email, and I was pretty unhappy with it. My Preferred Account is what I use to do my PC builds, and I was planning to build one next year when Pascal comes out. It's nice to be able to throw whatever I want in the cart, knowing that I have a full year to come up with the money to pay for it.  :)
 
Are Newegg customers just screwed now? I can only assume this new store card thing won't offer the same 0% for 12 months, but I could be wrong...
 

 
Actually the conversation did not continue. Sorry about that. I figured that since the email stated that there would be a new card starting Oct. 1st, that it'd be pretty commensurate with what they currently have. I cannot imagine that they would drop the Preferred account only to replace it with something that is truly and drastically lesser. My guess is that the lender bailed and instead of going through and changing the program to accommodate the new lender that they found, they are just creating a new program based around the new lender. I probably should have asked more questions but I honestly didnt think about it at the time. Sorry again!
