demon09 Why so? Most times an acx card gets thrown in
http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/ I can only repeat what the program says. I do believe the ACX's they have offered historically have been factory clocks. Not SC's or FTW's (They did once, yes I know, special circumstances).
ya all I was hoping for was a factory clocked acx card. hopefully we see non sc versions pretty close to the time it took them with the 1080.

strato79 Quick question. Is this the block that is compatible with the EVGA FE 1080 Ti? EK-FC Titan X Pascal - Nickel. https://www.ekwb.com/shop...-titan-x-pascal-nickel
Edit and this one too? https://www.ekwb.com/shop...x-pascal-acetal-nickel Need to go ahead and order the Acetal-Nickel if it is indeed compatible. I'm afraid they will sell out fast if I don't jump on one now. Can someone verify this will 100% work with the EVGA FE? I know it will on the Nvidia FE and knowing they are both reference I'm assuming it will work but I want confirmation. Just afraid there may be a slight difference that will make it incompatible. Thanks.
Yes and yes. The Titan X Pascal block that EK makes is fully compatible with the 1080Ti FE. Same goes for the EK Titan X Pascal backplate. I'm just glad I'm not scrambling for a 1080Ti right now. Going on 8 months now with my Titan XP on water @ 2.1Ghz with zero regrets! :-) I welcome the 1080Ti though - nice to see it step up to the Titan's performance level. Onwards to Volta!
Thank you very much. I can lay back and just wait now. I'm a happy camper. Just need to sell my 1080 FTW Gaming block now. Have a feeling it's going to be hard to get rid of.

If I was you, I would hold out until the last two days are left on your step up. At least then you have the option if it is available! That said, you can always cancel the Step up and get back in as long as your 90 days has not expired.

strato79 I went ahead and ordered the Acetal-Nickel Titan XP Block. This one : https://www.ekwb.com/shop...x-pascal-acetal-nickel
Sorry to pester but can someone confirm it's compatible with the EVGA FE Ti? I can always cancel if not. Just wanted to get the order in before they went out of stock.
I don't think anyone can confirm this as we don't have the cards yet. EK did say that the Titan block would fit the NVIDIA card. You're far better off asking EK than folks here until the cards get into people's hands.

ya that's what I will probably do. Not looking to good though as all the TBD cards are super clocked versions

I'll take the chance and by the time I get the block we should know for sure and if it won't fit, I'll just send it back. Just don't open the box when I receive it and hold it till it's certain it's compatible. Don't think I'll have any issues though. Both being reference it should work fine. I was just hoping someone knew for sure but I'll take my chances and hopefully by the time I get the block we'll know 100%. Thanks for the help.

I just want to step-up to a 1080 ti with an open air cooler... The reviews I've seen on the founders edition seem to have them running at 84 C, at which point they start throttling... Doesn't leave much room for overclocking, and also seem quite hot compared to my 1070 FTW thats running at around 70C max. Not that I'll need overclocking with this card, but still. But with my step up running out at april 3rd, I might just have to step up to the founders card.

The website (ek) says that they (ek) have used CAD and visual inspection to verif you that it will fit. If it doesnt, I'm positive they would accept a return. Stock will not be an issue. They've been making those for the titans for awhile now and I'm sure they already put in more orders in for more blocks, knowing that the 1080ti fits aswell.

Mind you...that is pretty much with No MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision. One reviewer ran an aggressive fan curve where the card started at 20% fan speed and gradually to 70% and said that the temps maintained around 70-72C full load. At this point, until people start getting and experimenting with the cards...who knows. But the other point made in a lot of reviews was that the card didn't exceed the 84C, very often, if ever. The vbios called for a 60% fan curve once the card hit a certain degree...and the 60% maintained the heat.

That is true, but then you're sacrificing noise for cooling which is always a trade-off. I've heard that these blower-style coolers can get quite loud. Another thing that kinda annoys me with them is that I like to maintain positive air pressure within my case, but I cannot find anywhere that states how much air the founders edition blows out of the case per minute (it'll function as an exhaust fan for the case)

they didn't offer SC editions in step ups in the past. (only in EU for some strange reason). so don't expect it to show up. I wish they would offer it, but I highly doubt it.

yep I would be ecstatic if I seen an open air cooler at all in step up as the whole program its self is awesome. But it doesn't mean I don't want something better than founders :)

They did use the SC for USA for a short period of time as well. It is very rare, but the sc is still a reference model card, it is just overclocked. It is always possible for them to add it, just unlikely.

There's hope. Personally I'd rather upgrade right now rather than wait for a "IF" situation which isn't guaranteed. Technically EVGA doesn't have to offer the SC or iCX 1080TI card for the step up. However if they do decide to offer it then it will have a premium price, and will be released most likely on Mid-April. If you want to wait until your last day for step up go for it, but according to the step up TOS, EVGA could terminate the program (unlikely) but they could also remove some models from the step up program without notice. I don't foresee this happening for the 1080TI, but do take note of that.

or at least a stock clock version of it. as i could care less about the factory overclock, if time frame follows like the 1080 it should be a little over two weeks before we see evga's cards start to come out. At least i hope so glad i have 31 days left on my step up

Yeah I have 32 days left for my step-up program it says. Is there a way to be alerted if it pops up or do I have to check every day at a certain time? Not sure when they update that step-up page!! =/

Now if i do a step up on my hydro i will only get the founders correct? I been gone awhile from the market when did they start calling the base model "founders" instead of vanilla?

at the moment the founders is the only option.though we might see the SC black come later but that's a speculation if you do plan to wait(Make sure you submit your invoice and register you card before it's been over 14 days since purchase date) Since you seem to be a water cool guy the nice thing about the founders version is ek has allready confirmed the Titan XP blocks to fit it.

@ demon09 Yep, im all registered ive been buying from evga for over a decade now! I learned that on my first product from them so i make sure to register asap! When i looked through the step up seems to me it reads like if u step up to a better card/newer series u will only get the founders even tho i got the 1080 hydro. As in even if the 1080 ti hydro is out or any other version i would only be given the founders from how im reading it.

only reference boards get added . The 1080 in step up has an acx 3.0 card, evgas in house blower ,and Nvidia Fe . We might see the SC since it uses a reference board but it's unknown at this point.
