Hi all,

I apologize for my ignorance but I am wondering if I am running the correct driver and DirectX version for my current gpu setup.

I have three EVGA GTX 260 Core 216's in triple SLI with a three 24" monitor setup span to 6050x1200, X58 i920, Windows 7-64bit.....nVidia driver is 266.58_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql

When I run dxdiag (DirectX Diagnostic Tool) it says I'm running DirectX 11.  Isn't DX11 for the newer cards?  Shouldn't I be running DX 9c?  I mostly use older racing sims like GTR2, GT Legends, rFactor, and iRacing but I have been playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Call of Duty WAW, Batman: AA, TF2, etc

Thanks!

Your dxdiag says DX11 because it's the highest Direct X version Windows 7 is coded for. Your GTX260's can only do DX10.1 or lower though.

Thanks for the reply, so is it automatic and something I really don't have to worry about?  Unlike video drivers which are relatively labor intensive as far as updating.

    Thanks

You don't need to do anything. Like the poster above said it's just what windows 7 "can" use. I have a gtx 295 and mine does the same thing, it may say dx11 but we're not actually using it.

Yes, 200 series cards only run DX10 which is selected by the game.

Maybe in the future when OS's and Video cards are out it will be possible to update the DX level on the video card, but unfortunately can't be done yet on current hardware.
