A reliable source based in Taiwan shared with us the price-list of upcoming AMD Ryzen 3000 X570 chipset motherboards by leading manufacturer ASUS. These MSRP prices in U.S. Dollars paint a grim picture of these boards being significantly pricier than previous-generation motherboards based on the AMD X470 chipset. We already got hints of AMD X570 motherboards being pricey when MSI CEO Charles Chiang, who is known for not mincing his words in public, made it clear that the industry is no longer seeing AMD as a value-alternative second-fiddle brand to Intel.

The ROG Crosshair VIII Hero is what you'd want for the premium ROG experience, and a premium CPU VRM solution. This board is priced at $359.99, over $100 more than the Crosshair VII Hero. Need Wi-Fi? Pull out another Jackson for the $379.99 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi, which comes with 802.11ax WLAN.

Record-seeking OC wizards who want to push the Ryzen 9-series processors, such as the $749 Ryzen 9 3950X to their limits, will have to spend almost the same amount of money on the motherboard, with the ROG Crosshair VIII Formula, which at $699.99, is pricier than even certain ROG Rampage Extreme products from Intel's HEDT platform.

In my personal opinion the increase in the chipset prices is needed if AMD is expected to try and exceed Intel's chipset performance. However I would like to see chipset reviews when they become available.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Thought it was going to be worse. $200 CAD is not bad, mind you that's their lowest price for X570. Wait for B series boards for budget builds.

That is kind of bad since people wanted a war to lower prices not for them to make Intel the bargain brand.

$699 for the top board. lolwut?

I paid I think $450 for my X399 designare EX with a whole load more capability.

My God at this rate, the threadripper boards will be $1500 for the top one.

While I want to see AMD start doing better on money $699 for a top end board that isn't even in the HEDT segment is just highway robbery and pure greed. Guess AMD is taking a few lessons from Nvidia and Intel.

Well the WiFi at least is AX so the latest standard. It could be worse and be AC.

If the rumors are true, you still have to consider that we are talking about ASUS here. It's not too uncommon for ASUS to sell a board with the same chipset for 2 or 3 times the price of some other manufacturers. Sure, there are usually features, components, appearance, etcetera which some would say make the ASUS board worth 2 or 3 times the price of other manufacturers. My point is, when shocked about the rumored price, try to also remember that we are talking about the manufacturer which has the most expensive boards.

You guys are aware the motherboard manufacturers are setting the prices , not AMD .

...but I will probably be buying the Asrock branded boards , since I have had very good luck overall on them for various many builds for people.
ASUS has been hit or miss for me over the years - either you get a good one & it lasts or you get a bad one, and it takes forever for support to take care of you.
Same goes for MSI -> hit & miss  , also slow support

I would really like to try Gigabyte ( never have ) , but people tell me their software is the worst. ?

So the motherboard partners expect the AMD chipset to sell so well that they were going to actually give us full quality VRM and chipset designs... is anyone surprised that they would put them at the same prices as the z390 boards?

I have read that PCI 4 adds a good bit of money to the boards but like a previous poster mentioned, it is ASUS were talking about here. How much does that ROG logo add to the price just for the name? They can set their prices this high because they know people will spend it.

They are not aware because they do not research, read or comprehend.

ASRock boards look fantastic, too. The Taichi line is gorgeous. Wish I went with that instead of ROG for the Ryzen build.

So far all my ASUS boards were tip top. Common teething problems with the ROG B350-F but sorted through BIOS updates and no problems since I found the best BIOS version.

Two Colleagues uses MSI and report no issues with their respective boards.

I also hear bad things about Gigabyte. Matter of time before front page conspiracy news scandals are divulged to the public. "Breaking news. Gigabyte staff graduated culinary school. And they kick seniors."

Based on feedback from certain users, some of their GPU lines should be rebranded POS!

That's glorious news.  A 16 PCIe cap MB line for $700 from a company with a non existent CS. (Its your fault or yes we'll exchange your broken MB back to you service.)

ASUS has clearly noted the heavy interest in the new AMD 3000 series and is capitalizing on it. AMD probably won't be too happy since having to get a new expensive motherboard will make some people reconsider the overall value despite the less expensive AMD CPU (less than Intel I mean). The overall upgrade cost just changed significantly. Bit of a dick move by ASUS.

I've never used Gigabyte desktop components, but the Gigabyte laptop I have (see my signature) has been faultless.

Nvidia has jacked up prices on their GPUs over the passed 2 years, your motherboard is just as important as ur monitor, cpu and gpu,  and its pcie 4.0

Yall want to cry about any crazy prices, look at you current Nvidia gpu's & little improvement on on Intel CPU's passed 5-7 years.....

You thought X570 is expensive...... and this is confirmed not to be threadripper.
