Has anyone had a positive experience with purchasing a certified refurbished monitor from Acer? I ordered the Predator XB271HU 27in 1440p 144hz G-SYNC refurbished for what I thought was an amazing deal at $500. It was delivered today and the screen was cracked and the monitor stand was bent. Also poor quality packaging, my guess is it was actually damaged during shipping because the screen was not protected at all inside the box, the aluminum stand was placed right up againt the front of the screen in the box. Just a cardboard frame around the monitor inside, no packing materials like air bags, or peanuts, or Styrofoam. Really disappointing as I've been looking forward to getting a 1440p to replace my current 1080p monitor. Just curious if anyone else has had better luck with ordering from Acer Refurb. I'm obviously returning it just hoping they'll do a better job packaging the replacement.

story seems fishy to me if it was cracked like that why would you even take it out of the box let alone hook it up.

Yeah that's a good point, but was checking to see if it had any other issues. Since the bracket was bent I wanted to see if it would even hold up the monitor at all. Probably shouldn't have powered it up but was just curious to the extent of the damage. Didn't look as bad before plugging it in. It's already back in the box ready to ship back to Acer on Tuesday when I can actually get a hold of their customer support.

Had the same issue when I order a monitor from ACER certified refurbished as well. Sent back for a refund right away, took a good 2 weeks for refund...NEVER again. Worst monitor packing I have ever seen. I order mine back in March...2 months later they still are shipping these badly.

Even their customer service is terrible, the response to my email about the situation was simply, "sorry that happened, open a return and we will refund." I ordered a brand new one from Amazon and will be sending the busted one back as soon as they manage to process my return request. Never again ordering from them. Hopefully no one else makes the same mistake I did. If a deal seems too good to be true, it is.
