I like this monitor...
Much better than ROG Swift and previous ASUS monitors.
Probably is fantastic for gaming. For now that's my favorite monitor.

They will launch and ROG PG279Q & PG27AQ 27" Gaming Monitors
PG279Q - 4K / 60Hz

The widescreen ROG monitor is at 60 hz. The Acer one is 75hz. I wonder why the difference.

When ASUS launch ROG Swift and when mass chaos start and everybody wish that monitor I knew I will make mistake if I bought him because other brands show huge Curved monitors and only was question of time when someone will release Curved monotor with G-Sync... But this new 4K 60Hz 27" is not bad too... Not so good as Curved but excellent monitor. They will have probably some software to fix image depend of distance or angle you look.
We wait this from time when AMD present Eyfinity with 3-6 monitors... I don't know with 3 monitors I would felt as I sit in car. This is much better view.
And pedestal is very interesting on 3800R, that's from aluminum.

I mean full 4K resolution is not necessary...
Anyway people with single graphic cards will play games on 2560x1440p.

I'd love to get a monitor like this once they make them in the 120Hz refresh rate range at 1440p.

    | EVGA Z97 FTW| i7-4790K @ 4.6 | XSPC Raystorm D5 AX360 | EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hydro Copper | Cooler Master HAF-X | 16GB G. Skill Trident X 2400 | Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD | Corsair AX1200 | ACER XB270HU 144Hz 1440P G-SYNC |

Curved displays are a fad. Display manufacturers are running out of new features to throw at you so they need to invent new ones like curved display and over emphasize their merit.

OK, but many gamers in previous years had vision that Curved screen could serve them much better than three screen.
That's not something what we didn't expect even before 5 years. OK now producers have chance to earn money on that and decide to improve Curved screen.
That's very good because such screen shape is best optimize with human eyes to give you impression of reality.
We expect that from moment when someone connect 3 monitors on single graphic card and start to play racing games, from than people wait curved screen and only was question of time.
For me 60Hz is not flaw... That's for me, because I can't afford nothing over 2560x1440p up to 60fps.
Imagine hardware necessary to give you smooth fps up to 120fps on almost 4K resolution.
That's for most people possible 3-4 years after some game is launched again with excellent hardware.

You're trying to rationalize curved vs flat LCD with someone that uses a real curved screen. From my perspective this curved LCD trend is all silly nonsense. The manufacturer's rationalization for why it's good is very marginal in the grand scheme of things. It's still a silly little box you look at on your desk. There is very little truly innovative going on in the LCD market and they're grasping at straws with variations of the same theme in hopes that customers won't notice. Sell a resolution till you saturate the market. Then up the resolution and change the hz setting till you saturate the market. Rinse and repeat. It's still just a little box on your desk. There is no paradigm shift of truly disruptive technology going on in the desktop LCD market.

Brad you just like showing that thing off If my house was that big I'd be stoked. There's no way I could fit that thing in the cracker box I live in, so I'm all for a curved screen surround setup, but honestly I'm really waiting to see what retail Oculus brings.

With so huge view you really have feeling as you are inside of game.
Curved screen are good because corners on wide monitors are closer to you and you can pay attention on whole screen better.
I sometimes move head forward closer to monitor, completely unaware of that because I think on shooting enemies and try to look better.
That special happen when I notice something in corner to shoot on me or try to hit in head or similar things.....

You're not looking that close at pictures then. That's a different screen and new projectors. Old pics are of totally different setups and not in that room. When I post a pic it tends to always be a new setup, not the same one. Heck, my mods rigs pics even show two other screens that are different.
