ASRock has teased their X99 OC Formula over at their Facebook page showcasing a powerful 12 Phase design that supports 1300W of power for overclocking. While the ASRock X99 OC Formula is geared towards the overclocking fanatics, ASRock has also showed off several upcoming boards over the last few weeks which include their legacy Extreme 6, Extreme 4 and gaming X99 Killer and X99M Killer FATAL1TY motherboards.

MSI show some nicer motherboards than ever too... Looks like market will be full with nice boards.
I have some hope that EVGA will not launch motherboards as they show, because they will not pass nice near mid range MSI and ASRock boards not even to talk about premium and ROG high end or GIGABYTE boards with more than 300$. Some of them will offer and 4-6 SATA III ports, SATA Express and M.2 with everything other. I mean that's not platform for joking, that's not Z77/Z87/Z97 and EVERY 10 months new chipset. Such builds wait people who now upgrade from X58, X79, they will not change socket every year and need all advanced and new technology present today on boards. If someone invest 2000$ on platform he don't want to think about problems or miss some little features.

Agreed, lots of x99 boards coming out look very nice. EVGA better get it right, judging by other boards they is tough competition. Their 10 phase VRM is not cutting it to start.

10 phases for CPU only are not problem, they can work nice. Many good boards work with 10+2 or 10+2+2, ASUS X79 E-WS example workstation board for Xeons and Intel Xtreme and 4 way SLI, EVGA X58 Classified too, Rampage I think use 10 phase for CPU...and done same job as GIGABYTE with 32 phase on some board.
I don't remember. We didn't saw EVGA X99 without sink, naked... but other stuff and look are...

It's not everything in number of phases, if we talk about well done job than more is better, but in some cases is absolutely same because and less number of phases and good BIOS will finish job absolutely same.
    Even for graphic cards...
Galaxy example talk about their cards with 16+4 phases, 17 times we read news, pictures, waterblocks and at the end customers newer touch such card. They had 50 samples maybe.
Because they never plan to invest and deliver 500 cards with same clock and same parts and support with warranty 3 years,
they are not capable to do that.
They don't think if someone maybe wait that card and at the end Maxwell show up he didn't bought, instead to buy GTX780Ti Classified, best GTX780Ti or KP Edition even higher clock but cost more, GTX780Ti is in USA much affordable.

I'm particularly VERY interested in the Fact that besides the 12-Phase/1300W Power, For overclockers, the X99 OC Formula will have the superhydrophobic Conformal Coating similar to previous models that protects the components on the motherboard from moisture.

Maybe Not Everyone would need this feature, But being an Extreme Overclocker, it certainly has caught MY Attention!

I find it odd that it will only support 3-Way SLI or only have 3 x8/x16 PCIe Slots and one 1x Slot 4 in all.
"superhydrophobic Conformal Coating" is new form me but now reviewing this process.

According to the Article, It will support 4-way Crossfire and SLI and shows 4 yellow PCIe Slots plus an additional black PCIe Slot.

Why you build system for Turkish bathroom...
Flush little water on her you will see how that work... Moisture will damage ports first not PCB.
How can protect socket and ports from moisture? And this color yellow is really... tragic...

I agree the "Color" is not pleasing, But When Using DICE/LN2 for Cooling, I protect the socket and ports with a Vaseline coating.
When I was using DICE Cooling at -62.5C on my ASUS RIV BE even WITH Vaseline prep, Some condensation got on the board during the testing and Shorted it out, resulting in RMA'ing the MB back to ASUS who fortunately repaired it and sent it back to me working as good as new.
What it boils down to is Every Little Bit Helps when you are Overclocking/Benchmarking at Sub-Zero Temps.

I know, I joke only. But I'm not sure how that can effect in environment with more moisture.
I saw and some protectors for different slots on motherboards, rubber in different color available online.

The ASRock OC Formula's Color kind of pushed me away from that MB, But I just noticed after reading this article on both the ASRock X99 OC Formula and the ASRock Professional Fatality that there is very little difference between the two outside of the fact that the OC Formula has a Black/Yellow color scheme and the Professional Fatality has a Black/Red color scheme.

ASRock OC Formula color is nightmare... If someone ask me what you want ASRock OC Formula or X99 Classy even if I don't like Classy look still is better than any blue, orange, white, green or yellow board.
Everything can, silver, grey, red, black, all tones of them only not something else.
