Hey all... Just wandering if there's any Arma 3 SLI support in plans for the future drivers? Kinda forced to use only one card , because I get more fps that way than with SLI enabled...

The game's so CPU bottlenecked right now I'm not sure it would help, but by SLI seems to be working anyways. Same FPS either way though due to the CPU usage never getting very high in game.

SLI works for me. The game is super CPU limited, though. Doesn't even matter what settings I put the game at, I still get a terrible framerate.

SLI works, but hinders the fps on my system. 3d settings arma 3 to use 1 card an my fps went from average of 25-30 up to 45-55. I also tried alternate frame 1 an 2 with same results as SLi. Now with 1 card I actually see 95% useage on my gpu, vs 30% on both cards. Drivers are needed, but its in alpha, so this is to be expected, but I PRAY they fix there engine to use more of the system..... or that it runs better then arma 2 does on my system, it is a blast to play with right group of peeps. :)

I kinda think that Arma 3 is basically reskinned Arma 2! Too many Arma 2 bugs in it and if that is true, we might not see any performance increases or optimizations.

It's still in ALPHA, guys! You should report issues to the developer (the whole point of pre-release testing) so they can improve it. Give them time to work it out and get at least to the beta phase. I always laugh when people play alpha or beta versions and say," this game stinks! there are bugs and it doesn't run well!" Not trying to bash anyone or put you down, just trying to give some perspective. I am currently in the Project CARS alpha, which is turning out to be absolutely amazing, and it still doesn't have proper sli support and totally optimized performance...because it's still in alpha, after all!

At least Project Cars is using an engine that can make use of your CPU. I'm becoming more convinced that the RV engine is just too old and clunky for what they're trying to do with it. 32bit app, only using 1 core effectively, not very good choice for a game that's caclulating as much as Arma does. Sure, they'll be able to optimize the code so that it's more efficient with that core, but it's always going to be bottlenecked unless they actually re-write their engine to make better use of multi-core systems. So in some ways it's an Alpha-build issue, but the core of the problem really goes much deeper.

I agree with you. I just felt that sometimes people have the wrong mindset during an alpha or beta phase. If ARMA 3 gets close to completion and these are still issues, then it's time to complain and I will be right there with everyone else. We have to at least give them a chance!

I agree with that. I'm not going to start waving fists at them. Especially since I knew full-well that I was buying into a product still under development.

I assure you it's gonna run the same on release! P.S. I don't see anybody complain, it's more of a discussion ;)

It's simple really. Look at ArmA 2. It has been out for 4 years now and it still runs in the low 30's and 40's even on extremely high end systems. ArmA 3 will obviously be the same deal. It's basically the same graphics engine is it not? Just tweaked up after 4 years of experience. In the end it should look better and run better than ArmA 2. When I say better i mean like 5 fps better lol.

Yeah, kind of expected it too tbh. At least they've finally gotten the mouse-aim controls to feel like you aren't dragging it around with a loose rubber-band :D

Idk bout -winxp doubling frames lol, I tried it an all the other arma 2 tweaks an never saw a double increase. Not saying anyone didnt lol. I have seen some improvements using MORE of my system by using the Developer updates via steam. It has gone from using 40% of my gpu 60-70%. My frames went from 35 average to 55 average. They also fixed a huge memory leak, cause the longer I played the worse my frames would get. Quit/restart the game an it was fixed momentarily. Now not as bad but still a leak or 2 there. Frames vary in different areas as well as depending on the amount of AI. If you would like to give it a try right-Click ARMA 3 in steam library, go to properties, once window open far right Beta tab, select developer updates. Be aware that the only server you will be able to play on have to be updated to same version. Most say (DEV) in front of server name. Also if you want to revert back to reg version you will need to uninstall DEV version, de-select dev updates same way in steam an reinstall. See you guys on the Battlefield.
