I bought a the Hybrid version of the 980ti and after a week or so I decided to switch my system to a custom loop cooling solution. So I picked my parts and everything , but now I have the Hybrid which I want to add to the.

The best looking and cheapest solution (IMO) was to buy an Universal VGA block from EK and replace the AIO, then hide everything under the shroud as if nothing was changed. Unfortunately, before ordering the block ofc, I measured the square cutout in the middle plate and it seams to be 1 mm narrower then the copper base of the EK block. Sigh. The EK block has a square of 49.5mm an the evga plate cutout is about 48 wide and long.

The only solution that I see is to order a full cover block and not use the face off shroud. It's much more expensive and doesn't improve the look.

If anyone has an opinion of how I could cheaply add the hybrid to a custom loop, please chip in.

Thanks

I don't know how handy you are with tools or what you have available, but shaving 1 mm on each side of the block shouldn't be that difficult and it doesn't need to be absolutely perfect as the mating surface with the die is the most critical and you won't be modifying that.

I think I'll just do that. Thanks.

My EVGA Hybrids run cooler than my Hydro Copper Custom Water Loop.
If you have the Room in your Case the EVGA Hybrids are the way to go now.
I use my in a Push/Pull setup with a Fan Controller.

I finished adding it to my loop by purchasing the aforementioned GPU block. Temps went down a whopping 12C maxing at 38C under Furmark with pump and fans at 30%. Looks better too than having a custom loop with an AIO lurking around.

Now I am waiting for a friend to receive the FaceOff shroud and he will give it to me.

This is how it looks without:

My Max Temps while Folding was 42C to 45C. Fold that card for 48 Hours and then see what the Temps are!
I have to ask how are you cooling your VRAM on your card?

I see you're keen on demonstrating that an AIO with a thin 120 Rad and a small pump is better than a custom loop with Laing DDC pump and a 360/60mm rad. OK, so be it.

If you look at the pictures you can see that the base plate hasn't been removed. That plate is covering the vram and the together with the heat sink at the back of the card forms the vrm cooling. The stock blower fan has been left in place and is running between 1200 and 1700. You can also see in the picture 2 gentle typhoons that cover the top and bottom of the card with sufficient airflow (running at 1000 rpm).

Now regarding temps. Folding with the AIO cooler I did not pass 43C. After folding 20 mins on the custom loop, the card does not pass 34C with the fans and pump as low as they can go. I can fold for an hour or a year, the temps have stabilized already because they oscillate between 33 and 34C. It touches 35C when the cpu is used.

I didn't change the stock cooler to get better temps. I wanted to get rid of the pump humming and to have a simpler and nicer build. The extra cooling performance is a bonus.

Then I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions.

Today my friend came over with the shroud and we jumped right to installing it. So here is how it looks.

And these are the temps after 4 hours of folding.

    Pump at minimum (2100rpm) fans at 50% - 1000rpm

Hi, did you just connect the hybrid radiator fan to the sentry? What speed do you run it at? Also did you just keep the cards stock fan connected the card itself?

    Thanks.

Yes I use the Sentry Fan Controller for all 4 Fans on the two GPU Radiators.
Setting 2 or 3 in normal use Full Speed when I am Folding or Crunching on the GPUs.
For the for the Graphics Cards themselves I use EVGA Precision X software, it controls the Stock Blower Fans.
