What are your temps on that video card at idle and under load? Did this card have a limited lifetime warranty and did you register it within 30 days of purchase?

    hi, and thanks in advance!

    gpu-z reports idle temp at 37C and 63C under load (furmark 1.9.2, 15min burn-in test, 1920x1080(fs), gpu load 99%, burn in score 764, 7230 frames, 8fps, 63C)

I bought this computer used, locally off of craigslist about 15 months ago, all i got for the video card was an installation cd and a 28 page installation booklet.

    thanks

Since your temps are good, and it sounds like you stress tested it with Furmark and it had no problems.  I would suggest changing your driver.  Try the 197.45 from guru3d HERE.  If that one works out (it's the favorite for many of us running the 8-9 series), your good to go.  If not, try the latest WHQL driver from guru, if still not good try the latest beta driver.

There are no bios updates or the 9800gt, and most likely it is not your problem anyways.

Thanks so much, I just updated my driver to 290.53, no blue screens for a few days.............so, maybe the driver was the issue.  If I have another blue screen with the 290.53 I will try the 197.45.

    thanks again !
