I added a new computer today to replace ID: 1302271 http://boinc.fzk.de/poem/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1302271
With this one: ID: 1303713 http://boinc.fzk.de/poem/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1303713 Tasks: http://boinc.fzk.de/poem/results.php?hostid=1303713
I need to turn off my elect sockets where the other computer is for a few months to re-wire the room.
I have all what I can turn on in one room but not sure that the circuit breaker can handle it all, we will see.

Should we start a new thread and perhaps get some new eyes on this?

BTW can I use that image you created on the profile on my web site?

Β

Sure...the graphic was created by fellow cruncher Tex awhile back, but isn't showing up well in POEM. Here's the better, original source.

Inserting that file in the BOINC Data parent folder worked for me.

Although this event is a "charity race", i interpret it as a number of participants and/or teams that come together under a single 'Charity Team' team for a short duration as a sign of solidarity and good will. It was a brain child of the SETI.Germany and Alliance Francophone teams and is supposed to be a fun event with no competition.

Users can switch teams and continue to gain personal credit or can contribute together under a single user (like we're doing with the 'EVGA for Charity' user), however all credits during the event would go to the 'Charity Team' team.

I agree pc, we are used to points races around here but this is charity for charity's sake.

I do think it's pretty cool that our "user" will be there for ever unless you take it down and we can drop in or out as we see fit. I replaced my 660ti rig with my 780 and if I think another project needs work while this is still ongoing it's okay to move over. Also if you wanted to add cpu work back in, we should be able to adjust preferences on our end. I didn't mean to make that call for everyone. I'm running some very slow cpu's and didn't want to tie them up for days.

All in all this is a good learning experience and may offer interesting possibilities down the road.

I agree as well but, I cannot find what Charity it is for? " but this is charity for charity's sake." WHO?
It Was Team Credit that I care for not personal credit and also their are no Badges for Pome, this for me would make a difference.

Yeah this one I don't quite understand...maybe we just crunch a whole bunch of Poem tasks under our regular names and see how much we can boost crunching@EVGA??

Re: 8. Charity-Crunchen 2016 2016/01/19 19:02:42 (permalink)
FOr what its worth, I found this blurb about the event from the Alliance Francophone site (roughly translated from French)

Some of you may be familiar with the concept since we are already, and Yes, the 8 thEdition, for others it will be a discovery that we hope happy...

For seven years now, the AF and SG organize each year, action hand in hand (and with other teams also): the Charity Race or Event!

For about 15 days, all teams world Boinc are invited to cruncher for the POEM@home project.
Presented like that one may wonder what is the difference between this and a RAID or a classic competition...
The difference is that when the Charity Race, it does not calculate for Alliance French-speaking but for a team specially created for the occasion: the Charity Team. Thus, our friends at SG and we, members of the AF, will join this team on the POEM@home project (and only it) two weeks.

The idea is to temporarily drop the Formula Boinc and other challenges facing points for us refocus on what is essential: cruncher for science.

A few remarks are necessary about same. Indeed, it is (normally) not common to change teams and some of between you will probably ask about the credits:

All the credits that you have already collected on POEM@home before joining the Charity Team will remain for your former team (and with your personal account of course).

During the Charity Race, all additional credits will go to the Charity Team (and your personal account obviously).

Obviously the Charity Race event is not a story of personal credits, but seen that they have great importance for some people, these remarks are necessary.

The point is that people get together without the normal team race to contribute to a good cause.  This year the "charity" is POEM@HOME.

Re: 8. Charity-Crunchen 2016 2016/01/20 06:42:47 (permalink)
Hi bcavnaugh, here more Information from SG Forum:
Zitat from SG Wiki:

www.seti-germany.de/wiki/Charity_Team

 www.seti-germany.de/wiki/Aktuelle_Ereignisse#24.01.-08.02.:_das_Benefiz_Crunchen_bei_POEM.40Home

The idea: In the fall of '08 "SDW" (SETI.Germany, SG) had the following idea:

A joint action with the participation of all Cruncher and teams worldwide
without the background of competition or races between teams
To bring the support of a minor medical project is progressing

Preparations: In the weeks that followed discussed the idea at length in the SG forum. All were excited and wanted to join immediately. We got in touch with our friends from L'Alliance Francophone (L'AF) and also met there with great enthusiasm. The date has been set, we got in touch with the project operators, the invitation to charity crunching was widespread in many team forums in POEM @ HOME, the "Charity Team" was newly established ... and at 24.01. was finally going to the first charity crunching.

Charity-Crunchen 2016:

This year it is again a question of (changes to the every participant for the period of the event) together in charity team expected for the previously selected project. Everything is voluntary, not mandatory, but it will certainly make a lot of fun again.Projekt Poem @ Home.

Everyone is welcome to join in the Event.

Sorry my englisch is not so good.

Many Greetings: Terminator

Punchy
The point is that people get together without the normal team race to contribute to a good cause.  This year the "charity" is POEM@HOME.

Thanks,
OK then POEM @ HOME is the Charity and their really is no race or an equal start of a race.
We can still run tasks under our own accounts and Teams and still give to the Charity POEM @ HOME this is what I do not understand. I seems to me that is for the Charity of Charity Team.
Still I will try to keep one rig going until the end of the month then end BOINC runs for the year.
