Hi,

I noticed in the system pane that "only" 63.7GB of the installed 64GB memory is usable (see attached picture). I remember having this issue with my Asus board and it was fixed by a BIOS update. Is there a fix for the X299 Micro planned?

Regards

That's Hardware reserved. You can check in Task Manager Memory section.
Once I had problem with 15.9GB Installed and I couldn't resolve that.
That cause to Intel Diagnostic Tool Fail on IMC and scare me properly that Memory controller inside CPU is maybe problem.
That mean goodbye CPU, but looking report of test I saw that error is connected with size and because all stress test pass I conclude that 15.9 GB installled cause problems.
After month or two new Windows 10 update was installed and that fixed problem.
Off course after new update Intel Diagnostic finish IMC Test without problem.

Hello. If you open task manager, (right click on the task bar) select the Performance Tab then select Memory. It will give you details on your system memory and usage. Having some memory reserved for hardware is completely normal for all systems.

Okay, I see there are a lot of experts here who make fun of me and are comparing me with their dad who had no clue about PCs. Unfortunately no one was able to tell me what is the real reason for that. "It's normal...." and "it's on all systems" is not true - see attachment. It's a X99 system that I have built and setup for a friend and there are the full 64GB available.
