6 Pin ATX connector on Motherboard

Getting ready to run an SLI setup on my z87 classified and there is that 6 pin ATX connector on the bottom left of the MoBo. do I need to use it? because if I do I am in trouble because the clearance in my case wont allow it due my bottom mount PSU. FYI yes I purchased a higher wattage PSU

MyRig Intel i7-10700k, EVGA Z490 MoBo, 32GB Corsair Vengeance PRO DDR4 3200mhz ram, EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra, EVGA 850-G2 PSU, corsair 750d case.

    That onboard 6-pin power connector is there to provide supplementary power to the PCIe lanes. This will help with stability and overclocks. It is recommended to connect this for SLI, but it should not be necessary.

    So running factory settings I will be ok without it? But if I decide to overclock my cards then I will absolutely need to use this connector? :( I sounds like a new case is in my future. I know this case is a bit tight but I really don't want a full size tower.

    If you are only running 2 cards, you should be fine. Running 3 would absolutely require the 6 pin, as the 24 pin connector will be stressed.

    Please also be aware, the motherboard and put chip is run a little.. Funny. Lane 1 I'd going to report. X8 and lane 4 will report x16 for gpu speeds. If you run lanes 1 and 3, you will see x8 on both.

    The only way to get x16 on both is putting the cards in lane 2 and 4. This will make your cards extremely close to each other and isn't suggested of air cooling.

    Them running at x8 will not hurt anything at all.

    So I should run My SLI setup on Lanes 1 and 4 even though it's sugested to run on 1 and 3? Forgive my lack of knowledge here. I know just enough about computers to be dangerous.

    Sorry if I revive this thread. 
    Is I blind, or is there no info on the connector? Neither in the manual, nor the quick guide. Specifically for the Z87 Classified. 
    Is it an ATX (CPU)  or PCIe (GPU) connector? Both are only 12V.
    My P55 FTW had a molex connection = 5&12V.
