Greetings, after years of buying game rigs, I decided to build one my self! i7 3.5k win7 x64 16g ram Asrock Etreme7 Gen3 ( Bios 1.30) x3 580gtx Hydro Copper 2 (290 Drivers) Corsair 1200w I am having a issue with my computer detecting 3way SLI, I do not know what else to do? I checked the power cables to each GPU card and switched them around and they all worked fine, I am using a Corsair 1200w PSU, My first test was loading up windows, making sure nothing was installed in any PCI slot, other then the GPUs. 1) All 3 cards were tested one at a time in slots 1, 4, and 6. Windows and system operated fine. 2) I marked cards as A, B, C, and tested them in various 2 way SLI configurations. Slots 1-4, 4-6, 1-6, etc.. every thing worked fine, 2 way SLI was detected and operated fine. 3) Here is the problem, Once I have a 3 SLI set up, Device manager does not detected the 3rd card. While all 3 cards are hooked up and windows loaded I tested each card by disconnecting the monitor and hooking it up to a GPU card 1 then 4 and then 6, the monitor was working in slot 1 and slot 6. Slot 4 there was a black screen. Which makes me believe in 3way SLI slot 4 not detected on the mobo, but if I disconnect Slot 1 or 6 power supple slot 4 works fine. Any suggestions Greatly appreciated! Thank you

Oh no, wrong mobo. Yours should! Have latest Bios? Does board have a molex for extra pci-e juice?

In 3-Way CrossFireXTM or 3-Way SLITM mode, please install PCI Express x16 graphics cards on PCIE1, PCIE4 and PCIE6 slots. Therefore, PCIE1 slot will work at x16 bandwidth while PCIE4 and PCIE6 slots will work at x8 bandwidth." So you have them in the correct slots... Have you checked all three cards without the SLI bridge installed and without SLI enbabled? Have you tried another SLI bridge?

Don't know if this'll help but I had that same issue when i tried to run 3 470's. the solution that worked for me was to install the 3d Vision Controller and its driver while doing a clean video driver install. i had opted not to install the 3d vision stuff previously but discovered i couldnt TRI SLI without it.

Oh yeah, that's a great idea! clean driver install! You said Device Manager doesn't detect the third card? I suppose therefore that NVIDIA Control Panel does not either? Have you figured out which one it doesn't detect? Is there a pattern to it? (E.g. always fails to detect card X when X,Y and Z installed or always fails to detect any card put in slot X when cards are placed in slots X, Y, Z.) Do you have any PCI-E or PCI devices installed that are not graphics cards? Finally, does varying which power cords are plugged into which cards in 3-way SLI reliably control which one fails?

Dont know if you got this working yet, but my E758 MB did the same thing. switch around the GPU until they all show. sometimes the pcie slots can be picky.

Thank you for taking your time to respond, I did a clean install and reinstalled drivers and any Nvidia program I can to help me with this issue, I even reset the CMOS, no change. Yesterday I installed 1 GPU at a time in different slots and then did the same with 2way SLI, they all worked fine. If I have a GPU in slot 1 and 4 its in 2way SLI, once I hook up the 3rd GPU in slot 6, and reboot, slot 4 does not get detected and slot 1 and 6 are now in 2way SLI. Its driving me nuts.

its could be, but i had the exact same issue. if switching them around doesn't fix the issue with 3 gpu installed no matter the config, then i would say yes RMA.

When you are NOT in SLI, do all three GPU's show up in device manager? Also, what driver version are you using?

im guessing no only 2 gpus in DM, thats what mine did. Other wise he could SLI them providing the drivers are correct ect.

I had an issue with tri SLI 470's where if I had one particular GPU in PCIe slot one, SLI did not work even though all three GPU's were shown in device manager. There was something wrong with that particular GPU acting as master. Not his particular issue here, but it would be nice to have a definitive answer.

Ok, so I opened it up again and started to look at every thing again when I noticed this. The card that is not working in slot 4 is warped with a 1/16 gap where the EVGA logo lights up and meets the GPU frame, I never noticed that before. I do not know if that could be the problem put atm I cant find anything else wrong with my set up. I also upload a picture of what the other two GPU look like, and where the EVGA logo meets the frame its very smooth and a tight fit. The system is water cooled and in no mood tonight to take it apart to test out only that card. Thank you for all the replies, I posted on 3 boards and this site rocks with feedback!

Update: The card that is warped is not damaged, but for the amount of money I paid for it was not satisfactory so I send it back. Looks like its not the problem thou: So I took the cooling system and sound card off once again and did tests: Individual Test: Tested all 3 cards in slot 1 worked: Tested all 3 cards in slot 2 worked: Tested all 3 cards in slot 4 worked: Tested all 3 cards in slot 6 worked: 2 way SLI test: Tested slot 1 and 4, 2way SLI it worked: Tested slot 1 and 6, 2 way SLI it worked: Tested slot 4 and 6, 2way SLI, slot 6 worked slot 4 black Screen and not detected it Device Manager. 3Way SLI test: Tested 3 way SLI 1,4 and 6 slots, slot 4 black Screen and not detected in Device Manager. Did I reboot took out slot 6, slot 4 detected and 2 way SLI up. Now this is how I know that for some reason slot 6 is acting up my 3way sli. Installed GPU in slot 1, slot 4 and slot 5, not 6. Booted up and all 3 cards were detected. Was able to 2way sli and have 3 card as PshyX card, but no 3 way SLI Emailed Asrock and still waiting for response, I hope it is a file issue, I hope I do not need a new mobo.
