Seems you finally have an answer to your problem.
in 5 min my system my crashing at 100.. not good
At present i have as well solved my problem.

I took the GPU's off the loop.
Put the problem card back in its standard casing with fan etc
Fired up windows and everything is normal! yeah

I agree with you its got to be crap in loop.
My 360 Rad needs changing & i might go over to a dual loop.
Money is v tight so this will have to wait at min.
Waterflow should be good as i'm using 1/2 3/4 tubing.
Just glad cards ok, so going to stick with it til new Rad.

Cheers for the come back and keep us informed of your outcome
your kitten Av is a classic by the way ..lol

if you don't have money for a dual loop setup... you can do something like dual pass... for example:

360 #1 -> CPU -> chipset -> 360 #2 -> GPU's -> res -> pump -> 360 #1 -> etc...

Sorry for the delayed update. I got the card RMA'ed (thanks BRCromer & EVGA!) and when I installed the replacement card (different serial number, but looked to be the same waterblock on it), the temps ran within 1°C of each other on idle, and almost as close under load. Very happy about that.

Unfortunately I have since been suffering the black screen frustration, and for the last couple of days have been running just one card until I install the new AX1200 PSU that was delivered a day ago.. I'm hoping that will resolve the issue, since nothing else has. I have been running on an HX1000 PSU up till now, which is a good PSU, but being effectively 2 x 500W PSUs in one casing, I think that may have been contributing to the black screening.. maybe.

I wouldn't buy a hydro card, from teh reviews i saw when looking into fermi they don't perform that well compared to other brands. As for backplates, the general figure is about 1-2c less in temps as opposed to without one.

I had a backplate on one of my cards but removed it when I was testing for issues when I first got the cards. There was no significant difference in temps for me, although if you had a fan blowing on it directly, it may help. Definitely adds aesthetic value though.
