What bios mode do most of you leave your King Pin In?
Is it okay just to leave in LN2 mode or OC mode all the time and use it for daily use and gaming? Or do some games crash in these modes like cyber punk?
My bios switch broke upon using it for first time (plastic tab broke) now its in for RMA so I want to just leave it in one mode when i get it back for fear switch will break again. (Evga said they may be charging me for the switch which i find ridiculous as its physical damage)
The LN2 520W BIOS will not break your card or cause issues by itself. Despite it's name, all of the "safe guards" are still in place on the card on that BIOS, you have to disable them directly with the Classified Tool, or swap to the fully unlocked 1000W (real) LN2 BIOS to really get a fully-unlocked, no restrictions (and totally capable of killing your card if you set something wrong) BIOS.
I have run mine on the LN2 BIOS switch position since I switched to it the second day I was doing benchmarking testing on the card. The only crashes I've had on this card with that BIOS is when I was pushing clocks really hard to see how high it can go on stock voltages, I've had zero crashes in game when running normal clocks. I've even found that 2100MHz @ 1025mV (undervolt/OC) is completely stable in Cyberpunk 2077 thus far in my testing on this particular card. I run it with it set at the full 520W Power limit all the time, it RARELY actually gets up to 520W of power draw, you have to be pushing extra voltage or very high clocks in my experience thus far, to get it to pull more than ~480-500W. The LN2 520W BIOS also still allows 0-RPM mode with the on-board fan, meaning you can have the on-board fan "stop" when the card is below a certain temperature, thusly reducing noise & dust build up when idle. Not sure if the Kingpin is the same way because I skipped over the OC BIOS switch mode completely, but the 3090 FTW3 Hybrid & 3080 FTW3 Ultra I've had previously both did not allow you to set the fan to turn off completely at idle, with the OC BIOS switch mode.
Once you get your replacement card, I would switch it to the LN2 BIOS & leave it there... this time be gentle :-P lol
Here's a screenshoto from a Cyberpunk 2077 session of the power draw, temps & clocks:
That was testing 2130MHz @ 1025mV, and as you can see, power draw was pretty "normal", ~440W maximum.
