So I won the lottery and was able to get a 3090 FTW edition. When I got the card, I noticed that the sealed box had been opened, the seals had been cut and new seals had been applied. The card seemed fine otherwise.

I use the system to game and as well to NICEHASH. In the previous cards m (both 3080 and 3080ti) the fan wouldn’t turn on much during the mining, but now with the 3090 it’s in constantly. The temp is at 94 c right now, but was up to 106.

Would I need to apply thermal pads to the 3090 as I’ve seen suggested in other google searches, but figured I should check here if others have had any issues with this card.

I’ve not tried overclocking yet, so I haven’t figured out what temps I should expect.

I got the card from evga.com, the 3080 and 3080ti I had didn’t run like a jet engine when using nicehash

The card seems fine in wow, haven’t tried other games just yet, just concerned over the seals having been resealed in the box. The vram temps are at 94, which is higher than the average when it mines; I'm tempted to get it replaced to see if maybe it just is a case of bad thermal pads.
