Hi!
I just bought a EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW Ultra and noticed that one of the capacitors (?) is placed quite strange.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is this something I should worry about?
Since I just bought this, I don‘t know if I should return it or not.
Thanks!

Your picture isn’t showing. I tried to edit the post to get the image to appear, but it says file not found.

Could you load the image to Imgur, and provide the link to the picture through the webpage?

You may need to edit the link when posting, so that the system doesn’t remove the link. Just break up the link and I can edit it to work for you.

That cap is only half soldered. I would def RMA. That is a critical area electrically, considering the last minute redesign in the wake of CAP-gate.

I think that its soldered ok, only misaligned.

I’ve seen plenty of caps that are canted, but something doesn’t look quite right about that one. My advice is to register the card and open a ticket. Include the pic when you do. Best to let tech support shed some light on that and whether or not to RMA it.

I think that due to high demand nowadays there are quality problems with all new cards.

Definitely RMA. It might work but why risk having it fail down the road. Or worse yet maybe it's compromised in stablity causing random crashes.

Based on the photo and the canted SMD, it would be best to have the unit replaced. Unfortunately there is no way of knowing without testing if there would be an issue.

I can guarantee there's no issue here. caps are soldered like this all the time. those two caps are sharing the same pad, angled or not, so they are always "touching" electrically
