3080TI FTW Ultra Hybrid mounting in case

Looking for some info regarding the mounting of the 3080TI Hybrid. I would like to mount in my case on the built in vertical gpu mount, however, this places it close to the tempered glass.  The other cards I have done with this showed increase temperatures since it was struggling to pull air in near the tempered glass.
 
The Hybrid card however the fan is only trying to cool the Vram if I read it correctly. Since its not trying to cool a giant gpu heatsink, is it ok to have it near the glass?

I believe ultimately the further it is away from the glass the better, just hoping that some may have some experience where the VRAM does not need as much cooling as the GPU. 
 
From what I understand the vertical GPU mount is for fully water-cooled systems/cards, just hoping there is enough cooling so I can mount it with the included bracket rather than the Mod bracket I bought.

    The fan only cools the VRM. Mem is cooled by the waterblock via a copper plate heat spreader. It'll be fine unless it's very close to the glass.

    How thick is that card? The hybrid is thinner than most new high end air cooled cards.

    It was a thick card, it was an Aorus which had an obnoxious cooler shroud. I had another card in there besides that one and it still ran 15-20 degrees hotter than when mounted horizontally
