3080 10GB vs 3080 12GB gaming comparisons

The results seem to be identical, if indeed the video below is accurate.  So where does the 12GB shine over the 10GB?  Is it being able to have higher quality visuals for the same FPS? Futureproof?

    I had a post on it where I did a direct compare between the 3080 12gb and my 3090, if you want to see how it stacks vs that. People commented in that the 3080 12gb is ~3% faster from my tests vs what they actually own.

    Thanks, I hope its helpful to people on the fence, it's a bit expensive. But the whole GPU market is all messed up currently.

    It has a significantly higher MSRP, so NVIDIA and board partners will actually try to make and sell them. The 10gb version is retired simply due to profitability.

    I am getting my 3080 FTW3 Ultra delivered today, can't wait....never thought I would actually be able to order one. Got it through the EVGA queue, been almost two years. I'd rather have the 10g over the 12g ... too expensive for just a little more performance. I feel like I'm in the sweet spot as far as price/performance.

    ... which means it will be manufactured more and sold more. It's a good thing and a bad thing, depending on how you look at it.
