EVGA is finally selling compatible thermal putty for the VRMs. I know some people were struggling with figuring out which combinations of thermal pads worked when they were repasting their cards.

https://www.evga.com/prod...aspx?pn=M047-10-000003

According to Jacob, one syringe should be enough to replace all of the putty. I picked up 2 anyway.

Would be good to know the thermal conductivity of it. Then again, it's for the inductors so it probably doesn't really matter anyway.

EVGA just told me that they dont plan to sell it in Europe. Their support is just a joke.
This will definitely the last product I ever buy from them.

limit of 5?! I have a 3070ti a 3080 hybrid and 2 3090's. when the hybrid kits become available again I plan to buy 2 for my 3090's. I will BLOW through those 5 doses on that alone if I don't go heavy...... annoying

They bumped up the limit.  It was limit of 2 yesterday.  I'm happy that they're selling the putty now.  I just picked up a hybrid cooler and was really hesitant on installing it, since it would have been a pain to go back to stock.  Now I'll have the peace of mind that I can go back to stock down the road.

comparable performance? I also thought "putty" and "paste" were different? EVGA uses "putty" on the Vram backplate where most see the spike/rise in temps after hybrid swap

This is a putty, it’s just called paste, and performance on these would be comparable.

There is no putty on the back of the card/backplate, Evga expects us to re-use the thermal pads that were already installed with the air cooler.

I'm curious if it would be better to use the putty on the front side VRM vs using the thermal pads that come with the Hybrid kit.

Keep in mind that you need a hell of a lot more than 8g to do a single 3090.  I'm not even sure if a 50g syringe of TG 10 w/mk thermal putty can do a full 3090 on both sides.

No... This isn't meant for the entire card, so you wouldn't want to do whatever it is you are attempting to say here.  This only goes on one component and THAT IS IT. Not on the VRM, Not on the VRAM, front of back, and Not on the core.  This only goes on the back of the inductors, nothing else.

A lot folks refer to the inductors as the VRM as they are part of the VRM. So rare to see people say inductors, mosfets, capacitors. The VRM is made up of multiple components. But yes I'd only recommend the putty to be used on the inductors.

Also, the EVGA price is for 8g where as the Amazon price of $8.99 is only for 2g of the K5 paste!!

Serious, last thing I want to do is void my warranty when I get one of these.... but I do want to take care of it and I know thermal paste "dries up" over time...
Any officials want to weigh in on this??

EVGA even honors the warranty if you put the card in a waterblock. Although in that case they require the card put back to the original configuration before sending it for an RMA. Only way you'll void your warranty is if you physically damage it.

Ive never been big on trying to take my card apart even more so now that the prices are that of a tincan car, how bad is it to do this, is it worth doing?

    Contact evga at support@evga.com

That is what I had to do to buy thermal pads from them, so they may sell the thermal putty as well.

Do not use K5 Pro. I know I had suggested it earlier in this thread, but I had been going off of someone else’s experience, and after people started getting more time with K5 Pro, it ended up being a horrible product. Just talk to evga and see if they will sell you some directly.
