Hi All,

I was wondering what the advantages are of 3-way SLI vs 2-way SLI?  The third graphics card adds a lot more heat, power requirements, and costs another 520.00...  just wondering what the performance differences are between 2 vs 3 in SLI.

Thank-you, wow those were some serious reviews.  I think I'll go with dual 580's instead of three 580's... seems to make sense, even though I have the assassin and an 1100 W PS, I'm still only going dual...

The 60,000 question is what res will you be gaming at?  If you have just one monitor IMHO 2xSLI is MORE then enough.  3 screens.... then we have a different story.

Currently using a 3 year old computer with dual 8800 GTX in sli and the absolute GARBAGE Asus Striker Extreme MB that is the worst motherboard in all of history.  I haven;t been able to shut this computer off in a year cause it takes 45 minutes to boot.  won;t overclock, just garabage...  anyway, this new computer should be nice...  Wonder what kind of diff I will notice...

This assasing G1 sitting in front of me lools sweet... got dual Sata 3 Plextor 128 GB SSD's... raid 0 should be nice.  I guess I can live with dual SLI 580 GTX...

THe difference will be massive.  I have 3 30's and only 2 580's.  If I were you I'd actually try one and see how that works for you.  With the 590's inbound make sure you get EVGA in case we can step up.

I wonder when the 590's are coming?  I have a feeling its not going to be for another 6 months...  Step up is only good for 90 days from purchase...  I did buy the EVGA though...

Your SLI GTX 580's will be cheaper and faster than the GTX 590.

Yes, but I would use step up to replace both and have dual 590....

they would have to be released 90 days from yesterday for me to step up to dual 590:  so have to be released by end of May...

You know a GTX 590 is a dual GTX 570 card utilizing a single slot, right?  It will be slower than two GTX 570's.  So two GTX 590's would be close to a Quad GTX 570's setup.  There might be driver issues like the 295's had for about a year using one card, let alone two.
