So I recently bought an EVGA CLC 280mm but had to return it as I was unable to install it in my case due to the AIO not fitting properly due to its big size. Now I am tempted to buy the CLC 240mm as I know for sure that one will fit in the top of the case (MasterCooler Master Case Pro 5)

I have 2 questions.
#1 can the fans be turned around on the radiator? so instead of facing the pre-installed format that they come can they be turned around? I am asking because I know they are set to push air from inside the case out by default. I would like them to pull cool air from outside the case through the radiator. Do the fans on this cooler permit to be flipped around? I know the fan looks different backwards just not sure if it will work properly.

Question #2 I don't understand how I would be able to attach the AIO with the fans to the case then the radiator underneath the fans. Are the screws on the fans long enough to reach through the Case grill into the radiator or would I be forced to install the the radiator first to the case and then the fans underneath the rad?

All noob question but I tried to explain my concerns as clear as I could. I never installed an AIO before as I wasn't even able to fit the 280mm RAD. Really appreciate the help before I buy the 240mm AIO.

Thank you!

Also EDIT: The configuration on my signature is old I need to update it.
Thanks

I'm not sure the mounting specs on your on case but I would imagine that you would want to install the case fans for airflow optimization. Top mounted radiator and fans you will want the fans exhausting that air (as heat rises). Looking briefly at your case design, I would place the case fans on top of the radiator, aligned with the mounting holes and raise the radiator with the fans on top from inside the case to the mounting position in the case, then use the provided mounting screws, dropped down from the top through the fan and screwed to the radiator. I suppose if the screws will fit, it will be determined on how thick that chassis mount is.

yeah that's what I am not sure about that's why I was asking. Guess I'll have to order it and find out.

i have the same case and can verify a 240mm CLC will fit in the top with push/pull fan configuration. a 240mm or 280mm can be mounted in the front of the case with upper drive cages removed. i just installed the 280mm in the front of my case. Be careful the software and fans are Horrible.  I just bought the CLC 280 to replace my aging H100i. Strongly considering returning after 6 days.

really? I am loving my 240mm CLC. No issues with software just install and play. Only thing that is bothering me is a low humming noise from the pump even at the lowest RPM. I am used to silent air coolers and this is my first AIO. Not really a big deal but you can hear it a low hum coming from the Computer. But I am going to keep mine.

Fans for me are pretty quiet. No custom fan curve or anything and they sound like regular case fans. Only time they really ramped was when I was running Real Bench for 30 minutes then it really got loud.

Question I read online that some AIO's have passive and extreme mode but I dont' see those options in the software. Is that normal?

Update: Just found out the humming noise is coming from the fans and not the pump. I temporarily stopped the 2 fans with my fingers for a few seconds and the sound totally stopped. So happy with this cooler so far. Need to test more but an hour of Siege and my temps maxed/peaked at 60c when before my with my Noctua cooler they would reach 68c/72c regularly. Next step is to get some new fans for the cooler also need to test in more games. Gonna play some Modern Warfare Tonight and see how it does.

    Thanks

Ya within 10 minutes my fans were making noise. With this being a replacement for my 4 year old cooler I expected it to be a better product. They advertise it as having complete control of fans and and pump and that is not the case. It should work as advertised
