Making this post to show you can easily upgrade a base 2080 Super to an XC Ultra style heatsink. I got a 2080 Ti XC Ultra heatsink from aliexpress. The mounting points are identical. All that needs to be done is swapping the Black mosfet plate from the 2080 to the 2080 Ti heatsink. The reason for this is the 2080 plate has different cut-outs for components then the 2080 Ti. Simply unscrew it and transfer it over. You will use the original pads on your 2080 Black mosfet plate with the XC Ultra heatsink as it is the same. I used the same dual slot bracket with the new heatsink, just need to trim a small section of the plastic to clear the bent section on it. If you can get your hands on the 2.5/triple slot bracket this would not need to be done. I used an Aquacomputer 2080 XCS backplate with a 6mm copper heatpipe with thermal paste, its a mod a came up with a while ago. Helps sink heat away on the back of the card. With the XC Ultra heatsink and Nano Grease paste, card will run about ~8-10c+ cooler. I applied Phobya Nano Grease Extreme on the die as it is a really good paste and is better than the majority of thermal pastes out there do to its very high w/mk of 16. I would think this upgrade could be done on other series of EVGA cards. Heatsink thickness difference Trim this section of the plastic, a very sharp Olfa knife will cut through it without issue. Just need to make a small square cut. Fully assembled and ready to install. XCS backplate with 6mm copper heatpipe mod. Installed

Was that little, thin HSF on the 2080ti originally? If so, your upgrade is great! Your temps should be outstanding with that sink on there now. Great, great job. This is what modding and tinkering is all about and more people need to be able to do it. Ive noticed over the years the huge amount of people that cannot mod,tinker,fix,etc... anything...even the easiest of things and it IS SCARY. I just think what do these peoples poor families do, just spend money like water for every little thing?!?!

Yes this 2080Ti XC Ultra cooler is from a 2080Ti. The 2080 Super Black cooler actually works pretty good, but this is a huge upgrade indeed! I bought just the heatsink from overseas, as that is all they had. Only difference is the mosfet plate and labeling on it, other than that it is XC Ultra heatsink. Thank you very much! And like I said I would not be surprised if this can be done on other series of EVGA cards. Hahah yes, sometimes you just have to give it a shot and go for it!

I know for sure that all the gpu's from the 8800GTX/GTS all the way to the 1xxx series had the same gpu screw layout, so yeah you could use any sink interchangeably but the mem slabs and power phases are more of the problem. Hay, you never know till you try though.
