My first EVGA product...
Just noticed yesterday that my GPU temp was around 90 degrees while gaming. Decided to check the fans and they were not spinning....i tried all software. MSI afterburner, Precision x1 etc. i set fan speed manually to 100% but RPM is 0. Tried unplugging and plugging the connectors again. still nothing. when i apply pressure horizontally on the fan connector the fans spin up. seems like something is loose and i dont know how to fix it. unfortunately its been 32 days since purchase and the store only has 30 days for defective product exchange. Does that mean i have to pay for shipping to send this card back? and how long is turnaround ? Quite frustrated with all this.

Have you got AB and Precision installed as this may be causing a conflict. I'd advise uninstalling both, then installing the the GPU drivers again (following a DDU uninstall) and see if this resolves the issue.

but then why would my fan only work when i physically press on the connector ? im not pressing down on it to make the plug tighter. im applying horizontal force on it and then the fan turns on. as soon as i stop pressing on it, it stops working. seems more like a physical issue?

Some fans (including some of the case fans I use) won't spin if the PWM single is too low and will spin given a little physical encouragement. It may not be driver or software related but seeing as it's the easiest to rule out with an quick reinstall it's the first logical step. If you'd prefer not to then contacting EVGA support would be the best option, as they will be best to assist and can start the RMA process if necessary.

oh maybe this will clear things up. i can set the speed to 100% on precision x1. but rpm is 0. When i press on the connector it suddenly spools up to max. when i take my finger off the connector it will stop. how long does RMA usually take with EVGA? i live in Canada. or will EVGA ship me a replacement first and then i ship my defective card back? In the current state, i can still use my card but just not for GPU intensive task such as gaming.

I've only used their EU services and it was generally a week or two before I had a replacement card. They did offer an advanced RMA where you pay for the new card and it is refunded once the receive your defective one but I'm unsure if this is available in your region. Best to get in contact with CS.

Could take a few weeks. Your best bet is to go through this RMA and purchase a cheap backup GPU and use that till you get your 2070 SUPER back.

Disconnect and reconnect the fan connector..Make sure there's no terminals partially backed/backing out..You could disassemble the card (easy to do) for better access and inspection of the fan header and connector.
