Yeah, a year behind me... I'm actually borderline scared since I don't upgrade often.
Oh well, 2 980s might end up being one top end Pascal depending on how they do there, right?

I'm not real anxious about putting some stubby looking video board in my PC no matter how well it performs. I guess that's just me. I want a manly looking brute of a video board staring at me from inside my case. LOL

There are still Win 10 bugs in 7.4.4, and it'll probably require a program update rather than a driver update to fix. There's a very specific one with Win 10, NVIDIA drivers, and the TDR handling that's supposed to get fixed with the next fah release. No idea when that will be though.
Have water, will cool.

I will be watching my ppd like a hawk now. 355 was just reloaded onto my PC for the time being.
If theythey update FAH, that would great. I doubt we see it anytime soon though. Too much free labor to worry about something like that, until Stanford realizes they aren't getting many returns due to Win 10 being widely implemented.

Just info for you all, after the 40+ WU failures, I have had non fail for the last full day. Am running 353.06 on my 5x 970's, 2x 770's and 2x 760's, For the 760's I had to reduce the memory clock by 100Mhz, and not had any fail. Points wise, amazing PPD by everyone, great stuff. Fold on...to 3million for the month?????????

Even at reduced production levels for the rest of the contest, I know I'll be leaving my previous best monthly record clubbed like a baby seal . . . And seeing that first billion for the month cleared in 10 days? C'mon! How sweet is that??

I cut back to one video board and then I got stuck with a Project 9704 right off the bat. So far there are no bad data warnings but I'm keeping an eye on it.

The real test will be the last 10 days of the month when the contest has ended and the bucks folders are gone. If our goal is the 3 billion points you suggested, I'm not sure if we have built enough of a cushion to weather that drop in production.

As team mates, we fold and crunch for those we Love, who we don't know and support though this forum...... Even more for those who are in the process of going through, or recovering for the reasons we fold and crunch..... every day... Bring on a cure, so we all can know more people that have got though the worst... no one should go through..

So, ladies and gents, how about it? Do you think we can kick down the 3 Billion Points door after a loud and raucous run? Or do we merely walk up and knock politely before mumbling an apology and meekly walking away as if we never wanted to be there to begin with . . . Oh, and the birth handle is Jeremy

Scott here and I would love to knock on the door to 3 bil, and then breach it. But seeing as I am now down to 300k ppd for the day so far, I am about to shut my system down until Stanford gets off their butts (you know what I want to say). Yes, I realize.. Bad word.. To me, failed work units and excessive wasted energy is not helping. The research is being lost if work units are failing. If Stanford doesn't want to fix it, then I don't want to pay between $300-500 just for the sake of wasting energy. They need to figure out what is causing the excessive failures and fix it, or I am going to pull my system. I don't need the prizes, I just wanted to see the competition through, but begging people to take care of stuff for me while I am gone was not part of my plans. Stanford doesn't care about folders, as long as they get something for free. I will see this month through, but if Stanford is going to treat everyone like this and not care, we should hold our systems back next month so they will realize that we are the reason this is possible for them. If they don't want to do anything, I am sure boinc could use our systems to cover research while Stanford fixes their issues. If after 5 months of consistency, my system loses 30%+ production because Stanford won't help, I will shut my system down and save the money to upgrade where it will help once they fix their issues. Next month, I am going to aim for the bucks, and then shut them down at this rate, which I have no ever done. End rant.

The problem is that everything is set to stock now. Normally, I wouldn't stress too much about the PPD, but none of this happened until the folding challenge started. 3 days after the challenge started, I was still pushing 1.42-1.54m.. Day 4, it dropped to 1.2m. Why is it that when we start trying to crush the Stanford numbers, that suddenly an issue arrives. It could be my system, for sure. If it is, I am not spending as much to waste more money when it was solid and stable for so long. A lot of time and a TON of money went into this system, and spending more doesn't help me at all. I will simply build a system for gaming, and stick to that. When I get home, 11 days from now, I am going to closely check everything. If nothing is wrong with my system, them I am going to move it to Crunching.

There you have it, we overloaded their servers with our over zealous challenge. I will continue to fold for the duration but I will only use one video board. I am still pulling 375w from the wall. I have already contributed over 7 million points and any additional expense is not acceptable for my financial situation. Sorry.

What I can do is build a cheap z87/z97 MITX with a G3258 and a 960.. That way I can always contribute to Folding, but I will not use my main system for Stanfords gain if they refuse to support those that are doing everything for them for free.
EVGA supports us better than Stanford..
I have tried to join the Stanford forums, and it has cleared and verified my account, but it won't load, so I can't even go on there to find out what is going on.

As I read about people getting discouraged and pulling back their folding I fear it might be the latter (though I have been genuinely surprised in the past by this team's ability to exceed expectations). I personally will continue folding 24-7 regardless of the points, but certainly understand that not everybody can do that (my current folding impediment is hardware acquisition i.e. empty GPU slots rather than electricity cost). We all do what we can - slow and steady progress for a good cause!

I wouldn't waste my time at Stanford's forums. If you even hint that the fault might lie with Stanford they have been known to get defensive, rude and arrogant.
