Hello,

I have an EVGA 550W G2 PSU powering my old Pentium 4 rig. The motherboard requires a 20pin connector - I've been using a 24pin female to 20pin male adapter cable. This makes for messy cabling.

So question: Does EVGA make a dedicated 20+4 pin cable that I could use?

Thanks,
Kelly

Just use the PSU's 24-pin connector in the 20-pin motherboard socket with the 4 pins from the 24-pin connector hanging out over the end of the 20-pin motherboard socket and doing nothing.

I have one Motherboard I did this with but had to cut the 24-Pin to allow it to plug in.
Most of the new Solid 24-Pin Connectors do not work, some of the Older Solid ones has a niche cut on them to use in a 20 Pin connector.
I have Two motherboards that are only 20 Pin and I cannot use a 24-Pin Cable as it is blocked by a Capacitor that is next to the 20-Pin Connector on the Motherboard.
I have one Dell Motherboard that has a 20-Pin Power Connector and a 4-Pin that is 2 Inches away from the Main 20-Pin Connector.
I have an HP that has only a 20-Pin Connector that the size of the 24-Pin is 1/8 of an inch to big.
Just saying this is not always going to work.

Sorry for your luck there, but 24-pin mobo connectors are backwards compatible with 20-pin mobo sockets, and vice-versa..The extra 4 pins are for PCIe slot power.

Yes I do know this but thank you for telling me.
Just saying this is not always going to work on Pentium 4 and Older Motherboards with IDE & Floppy Connectors on the Motherboard.

    Thanks everyone.

I don't think the overhang method will work. The mobo is an Intel D865PERL; the 20 pin connector is right against one of the PATA connectors.

I did just discover - it looks like their custom ATX 24 pin connectors are of the 20+4 variety - according to the picture anyway. I have sent a message asking for verification.
